Well if I have cake at my house I know that I want to eat it everyday. So I found that if you take one serving of the a cake mix and an equal part of the soda. (ie 1 oz of a 12 oz can for 1/12 the cake mix serving size) then you mix well. Then stick in in your mircowave for 1.5 mins on high. Then boom.. single serving cake with nothing to temp me later. A little whip cream free and I'm happy for 200 calories. :)

Cool :)
Now that's really neat!  The only cake mix I have on hand is angel food and the only soda I have is club.  I wonder if it would work!  I'll let you know

Holy cow it works! I tried it out cos I was baking a mini cake for my friend's birthday and it wasnt exactly pretty but tasted amazing. I mixed Coke Zero with Betty Crocker Devil's Food and stuck it in the microwave for about 2min on high. Comes out kinda soft but hardens once it cools. It does rise a lot though, watch out for that and don't fill the dish too full.

No trace of Coke at all, instead super fudgy and stickysweet. Just as I like it =D

It can kinda be made pretty with instant sugarfree Jello pudding as icing I guess. didn't try it though cos there's no time, I used Waitrose Belgian chocolate sauce as topping instead. Added a few Maltesers as decor too. Highly caloric but blehh it's my friend's birthday =DP

i love this idea! thanks so much!

Thank you for giving instructions on microwaving 1 serving.  It's a question we get often.  I'm tagging this for future reference.

I'm not a fan of the famous diet coke cake because it's just too sweet, but if you need that sweet, chocolate fix, it's ideal.

This recipe is great!  Single serving and none left over to tempt me.  I have a digital food scale so measuring out 1 serving of cake mix is easy.  Add 2 Tbs. of diet soda, 55-60 seconds in the microwave (1 1/2 minutes is too long, it gets hard as it cools) and Voila!

Just tried baking a single serving today and it was a success =D 1oz devil's food mix and 1oz diet soda, microwave for 1.5 min on high. What's strange was that my cake rose and then detached from the sides of the glass cup I used to microwave it. And I didnt spray with nonstick or anything. Does this usually happen? I'm kind of an amateur at this, zero experience lol.
