Diet Coke

I really believe Diet Coke triggers my appetite something fierce!  I stopped drinking it for a month and noticed a major difference in my cravings and desire to eat more.  Has anyone else noticed this?

hey've done studies on artificial sweeteners. Mice that were fed artificial sweeteners ended up consuming three times the amount of calories that their counterparts fed sugar did. A good reason to stay away from that crap.
i was once addicted to diet coke it kept my hungar pangs away and kept me going throughout the day now i find it really hard to give up so i just limit to 2 little bottles per week
Interesting! I switched from coffee and diet coke to green tea for two weeks and lost about 8 lbs, with a huge decrease in cravings. You may have a point!
I've dropped diet coke again and my food cravings seem to be subsiding.  My biggest problem is going out to eat = that's when I want the unlimited refills to go along with what I'm eating.  I think I'll start taking the crystal light singles with me to restaurants, until I can get myself to the point where just plain water suits me fine.

newby1 - I posted another place about hearing about green tea.  I'm definately going to try it!  Which "style" did you drink  Hot or cold - pre-bottled or do it yourself?
I've read about a study (I think it was in Shape magazine). The results were that there is a link between obesity and drinking diet soda and, surprisingly, there is not a link between drinking regular soda and obesity.

I admit that I do love having diet soda around. I guess the key is to make sure you're not eating more by tracking what you eat. Another alternative might be to allow for the regular stuff once in a while in your diet.
