has anyone every tried the 3 day diet.. i know its not very healthy but I was wondering if anyone has actually lost upto10 pounds on it like it supposed to do. I decided to experiment and started today and surprisingly I wasnt hungry between meals... Anyone else try?
Never heard of it.... but if you admit that it's not healthy, why on earth are you doing it?
If you're refferring to THE 3 Day diet, the very fact it's one of the most recommended diets out there as far as ProAna and ProMia sites are concerned, I think the answer is plain, fat, no arguments made...
Idiotic.
It's another stupid fad diet that only works because you cut out calories. You can safely cut your calorie consumption, or you can unsafely cut your calorie consumption, this falls in the latter. If you don't want to do the work to actually figure out how to be healthy and just want to follow a stupid starve-yourself-to-make-the-media-approve-of- your-body 'diet', then do it. Do it, because it's what you want. It won't make you healthy, but if it'll make you happy, and you are of sound mind, I cannot and will not stop you.
That's what it comes down to. If you want to be healthy, research, research the facts from trusted sources. Figure out how to eat to be healthy, and lose weight to become more healthy. Don't restrict yourself to a generic plan that provides less than 800 calories a day, barely 2/3s of the bare minimum, that is too low for most people anyways: because 10 minutes on this site, the one you're already on, will show you it's not enough.
Your not hungry because that's what starving does to you. Once you under eat to a certain degree, the hunger stops. Even when fasting, the hunger goes away after a couple days. This is why most anorexics never feel hungry, even at eating very few calories and very little volume.
If your talking about the 3 day diet that's suppossedly for heart patients, where you eat a cup of tuna for lunch with like 4 crackers, and nothing to drink but water, coffee or tea, no sugar, me and my husband both tried it. We dared each other that we wouldn't be able to stick to it. He lost about 14 lbs, but gained it all back over the weekend. I lost about 4 lbs. And gained it back. Immediately.
There is no quick fix to loosing weight. No 3 day diet, or 10 day Master Cleanse, is going to help you. You might lose the weight, but you won't keep it off. And the yo-yo dieting is worse for you than starving yourself for 3 days. In order to lose weight, and keep it off, you have to change your complete lifestyle. It's not as easy as a 3 day diet.
Sorry.
Nope, I haven't tried a 3-day starvation diet.
Wouldn't you rather find a healthy approach to long-term, sustainable weight loss? That's what this site is all about!
Sounds like a sure-fire way to head yourself into a vicious cycle of yo-yo dieting, not to mention a crippling mechanism for your metabolism. Do not do it!
Read what WebMD has to say about it:
I did this about 8 years ago before i got married, once a month for six months and at the tender age of 26 it worked really well for me, until i stopped doing it (i'm back here aren't i?)
part of the problem is i hated vegetables and i couldn't eat all the food that was on the daily plan. I tried doing it again a couple of years ago and i didn't lose any weight, or at least, not more than i would have doing it a sensible way.
so I have mixed feelings about it. i did feel full while doing it, when i did eat all the recommended foods, but I hated the foods so much i over ate on the days i wasn't.
I would never do it again, because i do better without crazy restrictions. but maybe to kick start a healthier plan? make up any calories on the remaining 4 days of the week that you may have missed during the first 3? I don't know.
I lived by this diet!!
I would do it everytime i had to go to a big event and needed to fit nicely in a dress, or vacation etc.
For me, i lost around 6-7 pounds in 3 days, but obviously gained it back RIGHT AWAY!
I find that its a really good way to get back on track, if you havnt eaten well for a while. As well, if you have an event and want to feel/look a bit better.
Anyways I bet if you were to stick to it, you would be able to lose a lot of weight, but losing weight is a lifestyle, and therefore the 3 day diet would never work as a lifestyle!
P.S. But you have to admit, the vanilla icecream part of the day is so rewarding
Anyone will lose weight by doing this diet.
It's not healthy, but three days of semi-starvation won't KILL you.
100% of the weight that you lose will be gained back within 1-2 weeks, guaranteed.
You can try it if you don't believe me.. ![]()
