Is there yet another freaking deleted thread, or am I just not looking hard enough?
so add 1000 calories to the 'diet' and you get 'zig-zagging....' was that so offensive to this group? I mean I know the 200-800 calorie range freaks people out here, it freaks me out too...
But could someone clue me in? Why the heck was that deleted?

Wow...I can't find it either. Very strange. I mean, 200-800 is really really scary, but this seems to be a pretty open forum.
I hope it wasn't deleted. I hope this is a forum where people can ask questions and get answers without the fear of offending the group.
I am just missing it too?

Apologies - Igor and I are at a conference and blitzing through our moderation duties at breakneck speed between sessions/on our phones and laptops ... OP is here and I think I removed it because it looked promotional but realize now it wasn't.
Sorry!
Sorry!
Thanks! Good to know why it was deleted!
yeah cool, lol, I just now figured it out~
it's not deleted. it's still there.
It was promotional. It was promoting Anorexia. One person linked to the pro anorexia site that supports that, umm, slow death. I was glad you deleted it. There was nothing of value there other than the many rational comments debunking that idiotic death trap. Well at least we can continue to discuss it rationally here.
Cheers.
Cheers.
It looked promotional to me.... but it was good fodder for the masses I guess.
Yeah but if you add 1000 calories to each of those figures, you get a pretty good zig zagging method. Obviously the 200-800 range is extreme, but 1200-1800 sounds like a good way to trick your metabolism out of it's homeostatic tendencies.
So should we re-invent is as the 12141618 Diet?
For all of your information,
The 2468 post was not a promotional post...it was an idea put out there for others to evaluate... but the only reason people "reported a violation" in the first place was because they thought about doing it themselves and thought about how hard/ near impossible it would be to achieve....so that's their fault.

LOL! thanks for the laugh!
Most of us here are trying to lose weight the healthy way.....balanced diet and exercise.....not by starving ourselves....

aishiteru_sunshine--
If you're not here to get healthy, then there's really no point in you being here. That diet is not healthy and you know it.
And the problem is.... most people here have done diets like that.

And some of them are still trying to recover from the damage they did to their bodies by doing diets like that.
aishiteru_sunshine, please learn from their experience, instead of being yet another person damaged by doing something so horribly bad for your body.

it is a diet and it can be healthy...for example I bet most of you think, by being on this diet will only allow you to eat one thing... like a granola bar, for instance at 190 cals on the 200 day. But if you research how many calories are actually in different foods you'll see it's quite easy. Some examples:
1 egg white= 40 calories
jello= between 5-10 cals depending on what kind
oatmeal= 109 calories
cucumbers, carrots, cabbage = so little there's no need to count
cereal= 140 cals (there are cereals that are 260 so you have to look for them)
milk= around 90 cals or so depending on what kind..
watermelon= 30 or less cals...
and i could go on but you see, you can eat just as healthy throughout the day like anyone else...and there's all types of foods you can eat. Even at christmas someone on this diet could have eaten 10 candy canes on the 200 day (one candy cane can be 20 cals) so see being on this diet will allow you to eat all kinds of foods and quite a lot of it...

aishiteru,
you should do a nutritional analysis to see if the total daily intake can provide necessary nutrition.
those foods you listed are very good as a single meal, but not as an entire day's food.
I think making wise choices can allow someone to limit their calories in a severe way, but most of us don't want to do that because we enjoy eating -- food is not only good for the body, it's good for the soul -- and I believe that is God's plan, that we enjoy what we eat. Otherwise, he wouldn't have given us such a bountiful and delicious vegetable kingdom or provides us with animals for food.
So, I am very glad that I enjoy eating too much to want to even attempt a 2468 diet.
adding 1000 to it, though, is sensible, though I wouldn't go up as high as 1800 while trying to lose. but that's just for me -- I'd do 12/14/16 if I was interested in zigzagging. But my program is providind a steady loss, so I have no interest in changing it.

i guess 2468 is ok..
aishiteru_sunshine is correct. it can be healthy if we eat veggies and stuffs like that.. we can eat cucumbers for the whole day-- i guess it's not that deadly! : )

No, aira, aishiteru_sunshine is not correct. It's not the foods that make the diet unhealthy, it's the amount of calories. Depending on your age, height, weight, activity level, etc., you need at least 1200 calories a day just to live. At LEAST. If you're tall or heavy or active, you need more.
Any less than that, ESPECIALLY on a regular basis, and you put your body in jeopardy because it doesn't have enough FUEL to operate at full capacity.
