I signed on for an answer to exactly this question. I have been working with a trainer twice weekly, dieting religiously (without cheating) for 3 weeks and not one pound lost. I don't care about fast, I would just like to see something.
It looks like you are losing about a pound or two a week over seven weeks, which is typical. In fact you would be cutting about 4000 calories a week, so you doing great. Keep up the good work. Slowly but surely if you continue to cut that many calories the weight will come off.
maybe you are replacing fat with muscle as you lose it?? i've had that happen :) have you taken measurements to see if you are losing inches?? are your clothes fitting looser?? and 7 lbs since christmas isnt bad, you should only lose 1 - 2 lbs a week... so sounds to me like its fine.. are you eating enough calories??
Remember - muscle weighs more than fat. A cubic inch of muscle weighs 3 times as much as a cubic inch of fat. A pound a week is a reasonable weight loss. Fast weight loss leads to even faster re-gaining of the weight. Don't think of this as a "diet" think of it as making changes that will improve your life forever.
I had the same problem when I first started dieting and exercising. People told me there might have been something wrong with my thyroid because I wasn't losing anything! About 6 weeks into my diet, the pounds started dropping. I think my body had to adjust to my different eating habits and different work out routine, and then the weight came off. It took a few months to see results, though.
I think 7 lbs is great! I lost a lot of weight my first week (5 lbs), but then saw nothing my second week. I'm now finishing my third week and have lost 2 more pounds. It just takes time for your body to adjust. You are going to have those weeks where you lose nothing. But then you will also have those weeks were you lose alot. Also remember, if you are working out, your body is getting defined, so even if you don't see it on the scale, you are probably going to see it in your body. (inches). Its an adapting process. Keep up the great work. It will pay off!
what is your water intake like. They say this is so important in weight loss and should drink minimum of 2 litres a day.Maybe up that as well as your healthy eating and exercise

I see in another post that you are only eating a minimal amount of calories (800).
When you don't eat enough, your body will hold onto all the fat it can by slowing down your metabolism so that you don't burn fat.
Eating more will, in the long run, not only be healthier, but will increase your metabolism and set you up for a lifetime of success with your weight. By starving yourself now, you run a very high risk of more easily putting on weight in the future.
