diet pills?
I know that diet pills are notorious for being a scam. I was wondering if anyone has tried any that have worked for them? How well have they helped in your weight loss, how long did you use them and what is the price range you paid for them?
luola they just don't work. Someone here found a great quote from Oprah. I don't have the exact wording but she basically said I have enough money to buy anything they can sell and here I am, still overweight
i love that you quoted oprah, i love her! haha, i know i keep hearing they don't work... i'm just hopeful maybe someone found one that did, but you've got a good point. I'm just desperate ![]()
Most of us have been there, I know I have. If they made a pill that made beer and nachos taste like poo I'd be 98 lbs. THAT is the science they should be focusing on!
My friend and I are both using Adipex/Phentermine. I have to say it's working extremely well. It gives you energy and suppresses your appetite. It is approved by the FDA for weight loss but requires a prescription. 30 pills of the generic run me about 10 bucks with my insurance. It sounds like a dream come true and so far so good. I'm only on day 2 but both days I've had to remind myself to eat and even now, I don't really feel like it. I did some research on the matter and it releases some hormone or something that is the same thing that is triggered when you're in a confrontation. Sort of like a fight or flight reaction, and one of the bodies' natural reactions to this is to supress the appetite. My doctor was really hesitant to give it out but agreed after I declined his alternative offer of Mirapex (i read it's not as good). He said that he would allow me to have it because it does work short term and would actually be ideal for my situation which is losing baby weight. I got the impression he wouldn't support it if i was looking for a quick fix for a poor diet. He also made me have an EKG to check my heart first. I know it's not ideal to use pills but it is approved by the FDA, administered and monitored by a physician and short term. Even if the 3 month term limit weren't imposed by my doctor, I doubt I'd continue beyond that. All the research I've done indicates the pill starts to lose it's effect after the first month and continues to go downhill after that.
Right now im on Alli and its not really a diet pill it dosnt speed up your heart or make you feel so shakey. I have lost a good amount of weight on it and it really works i didnt think it was going to but the 1st time i took alli and stuck to the program i lost like 30lbs and worked out a little but then some things came up and i just quit and now im back on it i've been on it since the 17th and so far i've lost 11lbs thats good for me i think so far. Just check into it
Reductel: appetite suppresant good but doesn't quite boost your metabolism unless u train really hard.
Lipo 6 or Lipo 6 X:Amazing Thermogenic and a metabolism booster.
Meltdown:Same as above but doesn't comprimise your Bloodpressure
ECA (Ephedrine,Caffiene, and asperin" stack:F**king amazing but you'll heart will be beating a double base .
HGH (Growth Hormone):amazing and recommended after consulting your doctor, the more you eat the more you burn
Winstrol:Steriod
Clembutrol:Steriod used on horses who has asthma and used by some nutcases.
;-)
I've taken them all, speedy ones, Phen-phen, fat burners, appetite reducers, etc., you name it. Made my wallet thinner, not me.
None of them are for the long term and really don't teach you the proper way to eat. I've had some friends that have had excellent results with Alli, so I may try that. They learned how to eat a lot better and had NO side effects.
with what ever kind of diet pills u should consume,a proper diet should be induced, these pills help u,when u help u.

Alli is a diet pill, look at the their website.
Like all diet pills, they may work while you take it, but as soon as you get off them, you gain the weight right back and in some cases you gain even more. It screws your metabolism. Easy off, easy on.
If you are a person who needs fast results, just remember, the slower it comes off, the more likely it is to stay off.. do it for the long run!
They all 'work' when taken with diet and exercise, it's just that none of them work any better than diet and exercise alone.

I'm on this right now. Not particularly because it works but because it's very very very addictive. I'm trying to wean myself off but I fear I might have to wait until I run out of ephedrine and then just not buy it any more. And you do feel incredibly sick while taking it - chest pains, headaches, stomach troubles, the works.
You are too young to be worrying about diet pills. Tell me about your diet and any type of exercise routine that you are on. Don't let it consume you and don't let it depress you. My turning point came when I took those feelings of disgust and used it motivation to get my ass to the gym. I will be your biggest cheerleader if you need one, but what I have learned is that no diet pill is going to do more than diet and exercise.
I don't care how desperate I would get, I will never take any pill to lose weight, because I KNOW it is not going to help, you yourself have to make the change and not any pill outthere can do that for you, like floggingsully says: none of them work any better than diet and exercise alone and I think you will be better off with a cheerleader like jigglethehandle than a cheerleader in pill form.......You can do it, for real!!!! And you can do it all alone, without any pills!!!!
I've been using Alli like glitterbug1981 w/ success. So far I've lost 14 lbs since December last year. Of course, I can't attribute that all to just the Alli but I really do believe it has helped. I don't solely rely on the pill to make me lose weight; I still eat the right foods and exercise like crazy. A 60 or 90 capsule bottles have lasted me a lot longer because I try to stay away from fatty foods as much as possible b/c of the treatment effects. I believe the 60 pill bottle is around $40, 90 pills is around $60-65 and there's even a 120 pill bottle that I think is around $75. They are sold at Wal-Mart and Costco.
I like it b/c it doesn't make me jittery and cracked-out feeling. That's how I felt when I took Xenadrine when it was made w/ ephedra. Ugh... That is NOT how I want lose weight. Try to stay away from the stimulant kinds if you're sensitive to caffeine or uppers.
I swear by PGX (available at Vitmin Cottage). They're just large fiber pills that expand in the stomach and make you feel full sooner. I use them whenever a binge is one the way... or in process. They really do help.
I think they're like... $20 a bottle.
i have used some metaba thing off ebay, first diet pill. stupid choice, was rubbish wich i expected aha
then hoodia tablets, didnt work wonders at all
and i have used an ECA stack, and i love love loved it, tried not to stay on it for too long cus my body gets used to it, im off them now at the moment, but i always go back once my weight starts to hit a platue
trying some colon cleanse with acia berry at the moment,
any one else tried acia berry? what was it like for you?
Not to come off as an a-hole or anything, but looking at some of your profiles and seeing 16 year old girls saying they have tried ephedra, hoodia, metaba, acia berry, etc is pretty scary stuff. How about diet and exercise that you have tried vs the random pills? I know that this thread is titled Diet Pills, but I am terrified for many of you.
*stepping off soap box and done preaching*
Good luck to all of you.
Cheers,
JTH
Alli works very strangely. It originally was used to lower cholesterol but then for weight loss. What it does is it doesn’t allow your body to absorb the fat you eat and it comes out with your #2(gross I know). This means you aren’t absorbing as much calories and also encourages you to eat less fatty foods because the more fat you eat the more likely you will have a very embarrassing accident. I can’t imagine this pill only absorbing trans and saturated fats, it would have to absorb all of your fats am I correct? Does anyone know? A diet without healthy fats is not a good diet at all.
Also...I have started reading The Body Sculpting Bible for Women (excellent book) and it recommended Thyrolean. I just ordered it from Amazon. Anyone else tried this?
