So I have been losing weight these past few weeks and everything is going fine so far.  However, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a diet pill or appetite suppressant pill that has worked for them.  I am a tempted to try Alli, but the cost of it makes me not get it.  Is anyone on here taking Alli? Is it working?  Which pills have personally worked best for you all?

Stay awayyyyyyyy!  They're pure evil, I tell you!

I have no personal experience with pills and I'm happy about that.  The horror stories I've heard.. yikes!

And apparently Alli makes you poop. =)
  • Yeah that's what I've learned from just going to their website, but hey, if I can poop out all the fat then that's fine with me!!! Laughing

I know they're hated on this site because it's not a "healthy" weight loss method but.. my sister is trying Hot Rox.. it's an extreme diet pill that is supposed to suppress your appetite, "burn fat", and give you an energy boost.

She hasn't been on them long but so far says the only side effects have been berry flavored burps (kind of strange) and a jittery feeling, slight HR increase, and a slight light headedness about half an hour after taking them, but most of that is her body adjusting to the new 'stuff' I suppose.

Idk, I don't personally take them because for my size it would be unhealthy but I'm not against them, sometimes you need that extra bit of help to get those stubborn Lbs off!

definitely stay away from diet pills, I used to take them a few years ago in the past pretty regularly and now I have a heart murmur from it!
Alli does more than make you poop, it can make you leak poop! uggghhh nasty!!!!
Diet pills might seem like a good temporary solution, but ask anyone who's tried them if they've actually kept the weight off... more often than not you will hear that they gained it all back and then some.
You seem to be doing  a great job on your own.  Keep it up.  Diet pills are extremely overrated.   I've tried a few in the past and wont do it again.  They can make you jittery, cause mood swings and some of them can make you poop too often.  Good luck.  Give peas a chance and other veggies Wink.
I've heard the same thing about Alli-- that unless you want uncontrollable poop, don't take it.  The rest of them are about the same- higher heart rate, jitters, general unwell feeling.

I would avoid diet pills like the plague, especially Alli. It messes with your body's metabolic function by supressing the pancreatic enzymes which can later affect the pancreas' ability to function normally. It also interferes with the absorption of certain fat soluble vitimins like beta carotene, D , K(which is necessary for blood to clot properly), A, and E and can also predispose you to colon cancers because of the breakdown in the intestinal linings and can also increase risks for breast cancer. It can also cause a type of malnutrition in people with no gallbladder or one that doesnt function properly or in people with autoimmune or malabsorptive disorders such as lupus or celiac and all this is on top of the loose, oily stools and bad gas. (I have been a nurse for many years and dealt with patients with many side effects from xenical(prescription only) and now alli (OTC) which are the same drug) Its no way to live...much better doing it naturally, despite all the hard work....I'm all for a short cut whenever possible, but not by compromising quality of life.  For a metabolic boost, try taking B complex vitimins they do help and some even have some vitimin C in them which will give your immune system a boost too.
