What are your diet rules?
no junk. at all. even if its remotely junk.
&a cup o' milk ATLEAST. daily.
1. No soda or junk food.
2. No eating after 8pm.
3. At least 3 servings of fruit and veggies per day.
4. Drink as much water as possible.
5. Keep sodium intake below 900 mg/day.
6. Snacks must be 100 calories or below.
7. Pay attention to the serving sizes of what I'm eating.
8. Get at least 30 min of exercise every day.
9. No more than 2 servings of bread per day.
10. Drink a cup of green tea before bed.
This is the general plan a personal trainer put me on a few years ago when I had one, so when I started to diet again I just went back to these rules. The only ones I have a problem with are the sodium and bread rules. . .most of the food my cafeteria serves is very high in sodium. And I just love bread. But these don't even seem like rules to me anymore, they're just how I eat now.
Original Post by laur_xoxo89:i have good news! thats way to low! you should have MORE sodium. atleast 1500mg/day
5. Keep sodium intake below 900 mg/day.
***Never skip that big huge breakfast in the morning.
***Take your time while eating since it takes around 20 minutes for your food to reach your stomach.
***Be as active as you can be throughout the whole day.
***Racquetball during my lunch break at work, Calisthenics before school, and gym after school.
This is the most important one for me
***Cook my own food and limit yourself to outside food whenever you don't have enough time to cook.
I'm the only health nut in my house, so it's hard to do all that when all your family is literally peer pressuring you into eating snacks, cookies and lard infested food.
--Always eat breakfast
--at least 2.5 cups of veggies and 2 cups of fruit each day
--only whole grains
--no High fructose corn syrup or trans fat
--limit splenda
-->50 g protein
--nothing fried\
--exercise at least 30 mins a day
-No eating after 8:30
-Exercise daily (though I have track practice anyway, so I take that as my exercise since that's a few hours)
-Try to eat generally healthy
-No more full soda
-Watch dehydration
-Don't deprive myself

What are some of the diet rules you live by?
- Nothing carbonated
- Breakfast every day even if it means being late to class
- Severely limit any beverages besides water, skim milk, and OJ
- Fried foods only once in an extremely long while
- Fast food once a month at the most
- Only one slice of pizza if I'm going to eat it
- Measure out portion sizes and then hide the rest before eating anything
- eat a varied diet

Rules:

* TONS of fruits and vegetables.
* No meat except fish (stick with dairy, legumes, beans and nuts instead)

* Green tea throughout the day.
* Avoid processed food (especially high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweetner).
* Stick to 100% natural and raw foods/beverages.
A cup of water and a cup of tea before every meal except late at night so I don't keep myself up. Then I just drink water, but i try not to eat late at night anyway.

no sodas, and nothing empty calorie. that's easy.
at least 50% raw fruit and veg
most of all, my number one rule to live by is that i must eat without planning, obsessing, or over-thinking. i want to learn to relax about food and make good choices.
- No Fried Food
- No Fast Food

- No skipping breakfast
- Keep white/bleached bread products to a minimum.

9. I can have an indulgence occasionally if I feel it's worth it (but in over a year, I've NEVER found one worth it =P)
10. Cook my own food.
11. If I go somewhere that I haven't previously checked calorie information for, then it's a garden salad with no dressing for me =).
