Do the diet sodas (coke, sprite, etc) can count as part of the 2 lt of liquids that one should consume?? It's suppoded all of them are zero cal, right.
On the other hand, how unhealthy or not they are and why?
an entire can of diet coke actually has about 1 calorie, and about 29434 pounds of chemicals. these chemicals are fine in small, small doses, but definetely not in excess. drink little soda.
and i'm not 100%, but i doubt that soda count towards your 2 litres of liquid per day. stick to water and tea, and maybe milk.
You dont "have" to drink water. You could just eat a bunch of apples if you wanted and get it all from that (lotta apples ><)
still, don't drink 2L of soda a day or anything.
get mostly water, and maybe 1 can of soda a day if you must.
Some diet sodas and other low-calorie beverages contain caffeine, which can act as a diuretic. As a rule of thumb, if you are drinking a caffeinated diet soda to achieve your daily water-drinking goals, you should assume a 33% reduction because of the caffeine.
In other words, count a 12 ounce soda as just 8 ounces toward your water goal.
You might look for sugar-free beverage options with NO caffeine and NO sodium if you are looking for the healthiest option. (And, of course, at some point you may want to be concerned with the quantity of artificial sweeteners you are ingesting.)

Thanks everybody for your responses. Don't worry, i'm not planning to drink my 2 lt of water on sodas, in fact I should consume 1 or 2 cans at most per week. In any case, mollymouser got my attention. How bad are the artificial sweeteners. I really try no to consume sugar especially in my liquids. I usually drink my coffee with 1.5 packages of splenda (everyday). And ocassionaly I have a second cup of coffe of sweet tea, but with splenda too. is this bad???? If I want to add sugar to my fruit or my juices, I also use splenda. Ok too much useles information. The point is I consume everyday about 2 little package of splenda. Should I quit. I realy don't want to use granulated or even brown sugar. I think I have it in my fruits and sometimes when I treat myself in my favorites sweets, so it is not I don't consume at all.

I know it is not a real source, but it combines all of the information out there so you don't have to go looking all over the internet for it.
For me, it's #1 water, #2 fruit/veg juice, #3 soda, #4 maybe diet soda.
The worst thing to do after a workout or especially bicycle touring (I hope anyone who does touring will know) is to consume any "diet" things as you are not replenishing that much if any energy that your body needs. When our body is deprived of energy for some time there is a chance of collapsing or something along that line if we continue or begin doing any physical task.
