Dieting with a crazy workout! HELP!
Hi everyone; my name is Jessie. I have been dieting steadily, but slowly since last December.
My stats:
Height: 5'8"
SW: 191
CW:167
GW: 140
I just recently, a few weeks ago, really got back into losing weight instead of maintaining. I am trying to come out of everyday with a 1000 calorie deficit. I burn 2200 and eat 1200. Which has been working. However, I am a college student on my school's Crew team and tomorrow our new Winter workout program starts, and it is hell! I'll burning anywhere from 600-1000 calories a day just in exercise! My question is...do you all think that I should take advantage of the calorie burn and come out with a deficit each day of 1,500? (burn 3200 eat 1700) Or should I really consume almost all of those calories to maintain a 1000cal deficit (Burn 3200 eat 2200)? I want to take advantage of this exercise, but I don't want to hurt my body either.
Please help!
Have a maximum 1000 deficit. And if you feel crummy at 1000 deficit, raise your calories to have 750 or 500. You'll still lose weight at 1 lb per week at 500 calorie deficit, and get to benefit more from the training.
I agree that you really should up your calories so that you have a max 1000 deficit. Alot of people lose weight steadily with only a 500-800 deficit. You will also probably find that you will want these extra calories because you will be extra hungry and you dont want to be too tired or weak to practice, so make sure you are eating enough.

Thanks so much. I'll try that out and see how I feel, better to eat more and lose weight slowly than to lose a lot of weight and be unhealthy and weak.
I know what you mean. If I don't have a plan for what I think I am going to eat I feel very uncomfterable, and I can't stop thinking about it. I also always like to have time plans for wieght loss. I think you should try to keep it at most at a 1,000 calorie deficit. If you go overboard you may binge, or just go around feeling really hungry. Also during this time you are going to be gaining muscle, so you want to give yourself enough nutricents for that. You are doing so well losing 24 pounds rocks! Good luck staying on track.I hope you keep in touch too. :)
