What is difference between Lattkas and Potato Pancakes?

I know that Lattkas are Jewish and Potato Pancakes are German, but what is the difference between the two? I have made both and I love every bite! 

not much.  generally one is made from shredded potatoes and the other is made from mashed (and right now i'm drawing a blank as to which is which).

if you love them (either or both), you will probably also love fish cakes made with potatoes.  blend your leftover mashed potatoes with a can of salmon, seasoning, onion, a raw egg or two if you need it for binding.  yum!  and now you have protein and omega-3s as well as crispy crunchy carbs.
