what is the difference between "weight" and "trend"

The blue line represents your current weight and the green line is the trend line, which displays a moving average of most recent data entries to try to provide a smoother line for members who record highly fluctuating weight measurements.

So is this "trend weight" what you may weigh at times (like after eating, etc.?)

No, the trend line is your 30-day moving average weight.

On any given day, your first-thing-in-the-morning weight may swing by 3 pounds or more from one day to the next, depending upon how much you ate the previous day, how much you hydrated, and how long it takes your meals to move through you.

The moving average filters those fluctuations out--effectively ignoring them--so that you can actually see what your real weight is doing.

Not 30 days...  The trend value is the 10-day average -- or, well, the average of the last 10 entries.  It just helps stabilize things, so that stuff like water weight isn't getting in the way of the "big picture"...  :)
