As for me, it's very simple.

They are:

  • Lower body
  • Upper body

&& I'd do ab exercises both times Foot in mouth

&& I don't do TONS of different exercises during either of my body part workouts.

How do you guys work out? Do you guys divide your work out schedule into those 2 broad body parts like how I do it, or even more specific?

And.... what's best?

- Okay, so I'm chatting with you right now on messenger...Smile Cute!! haha

But what I'm talking about has more to do than just feeling tired. Read this. I've heard that if you do intense cardio before doing moderate-intense weight lifting, your muscles may overwork && you may not build up as much muscles as you would if you would've done weight lifting first.

What do you say about this?

p.s. speaking of warming up before lifting weights.... I haven't done that for more than a year I believe!!!! Sealed Oh yikesss!!!!!!!! I usually just go to the gym, and lift weights straight awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

How would not warming up before lifting weights and not stretching after your work outs affect you?

  • Tummy area
  • Thighs

I have huge problems in these areas. :P I divide my workout into two parts, mainly focusing on toning my thighs. I heard that if you overdo on tummy exercises, you will develop major abs and these abs will stick out.

monday-  bi's and tri's

tuesday- legs and abs

wednesday- rest

thursday-  chest

friday-  back

My schedule goes upper body day, cardio, lower body, jiu jitsu (striking), cardio, jiu jitsu (grappling), day off.

On the weightlifting days I exercise four lower body muscle groups, and five upper.

Lower: Thighs, hamstrings, calves, abs

Upper: Triceps, biceps, upper back, lower back, shoulders

I've been bad though, missing my jiu-jitsu classes the last couple weeks.  I really need to get back on that.  *kicks self in the butt*

Hmmmm... seems like most of you guys focus on very specific body parts...

As for me, I only split my work outs into lower body and upper body. Foot in mouth

For example, on a "lower body" day, I'd do just any type of exercises for my lower body (usually, I concentrate on my bum! Need a tight tight one!! Tongue out)

Well.... I want to know....

Would it not be beneficial for me (building muscles) if I just pretty much did random exercises for any part of my body (but of course, focusing on either the lower/upper body)?

Please answer this question!!! ThanksssLaughing

sooji, it depends on what those random exercises are. You want to be doing compound exercises, and in a balance that works all the muscles. Why not find a training program (like New Rules of Lifting) that will create one for you, instead of trying to figure it out on your own.

Would it be beneficial to you? it's definitely better than not doing anything, but probably not as good as having an actually, well thought out plan.

I agree that doing random work outs for my lower/upper body would be better than not doing ANY hahahahaah!! That's quite obvious but it still struck me and I was like, "Oh.... right....." Foot in mouth

I googled "New Rules of Lifting" and realized it's actually a BOOK? Lol I thought it was like a site on the internet... a free one where I could just get the scheduled workout routines or something like that hahahaha!!

One body part per day, switching the days and specific exercises around to avoid acclimation:

Chest

Back

Biceps/Triceps

Shoulders

Legs

Abs every day and 45-60 of cardio (recumbent bike or stairmaster) at the gym five days and started running outside three days.  If I can't stay away from the gym on the weekends, I will do legs again as long as I get two days off between leg workouts or I will do stabilizer muscle workouts.  I need to work my stabilizers more...it helps the rest of my workouts SO MUCH.

- "Stabilizer muscle workouts" ???? Surprised What is that??

- Ohhhhh mannnnn!! I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrv stairmaster!!!!!!!!!! That's the same as "stepper" right??? Omgggg I love ittttt!! I think it burns quite a lot of calories?? && it acts as a leg workout!! BUTT TIGHTENER!!! Mwahahahaha!!!!! Cool
