What are the different workout activities that you do? (Aside from the gym)
I have been reading blogs on the internet lately and I have realized that many people have several different activites that they do to workout - not just going to the gym every single day which can become boring. For instance, some of the activities that I am seeing are:
- Hiking
- Pilates
- Boxing
- Biking
Just wondering if anyone on here is doing sort of the same thing (doing multiple activities throughout the week)?
Lift at home (weight bench in basement) 3x/week
Walk home from metro every day, walk dog some days
Bike ride on weekends
Belly dancing 1x/week
edit: forgot Wii EA Sports Active - 1-2x/week
Belly dancing! That's a really good one!
Hurling.
Weight lift at home
Treadmill (not so much lately)
Wii (My Personal Trainer)
Swimming
Bowling (during the fall/winter)
DH tried to talk me into getting a bike and biking with him, but it just doesn't interest me.
I work in a gym, so I admit, even though I have a gym in my home, I do most of my working out -partic the lifting- at the place I really live at, the gym. I do run outside, usually 5 days a week, a few of those days on the beach with my dog. I love to surf - even though I still pretty much suck at it and I swim 1-2x's a week in the ocean [approx 1.5 miles each time].
I am a member of the local Dragon Boat Club, and we practice 3x/week. Great cardio and upper body strength. Also good for the core.
Cheers.
Latin Dancing (i.e. Salsa, Merengue)
Step Class
Kickboxing
I'd rather dance as cardio than do anything else really. It makes it go by wayyy faster and it doesn't even seem like exercise. It's more fun than anything else and can be interactive or done alone.
- daily: cycling
- every other day: HIIT (either sprinting or stairs) - currently taking a break from this though
- 1-2x a week: weights, swimming, tae bo/dance aerobics/step aerobics, clubbing
- every now and then: walking, jogging, dancing, hiking
I try to play tennis at least 1-2 times a week and do at least 1 more light activity for the week- like playing beach volleyball, kayaking or hiking.
Amateur Boxing - Competitive
roller skating on tuesdays (adult skate) ![]()
I love going for a bike ride during the summer months.
Currently I am doing boot camp (amazing workout), kickboxing and just staying active in general.
bicycling! yoga! (vinyasa [power baptiste style])
running, swimming, cycling... regularly and often
Pilates, gym, karate............... occasionally and not often enough..
