I was thinking about buying a digital scale since the one I have now is older than I am. lol. It works just fine, but I was wondering if the digital might me more acurate? Any ideas? thanx!

i don't have a digital either, but i think it would be more accurate.  i think it's not too important, though, what kind of scale, as long as it's moving DOWNWARD!  my friend has a doctor's type balance scale so she can read 1/4 pounds, that's probably the most accurate,  but several people have recommended a digital.  you could try using the "search" on the forums for "digital scales."  that might bring up some ideas.
I bought a Tanita digital.  you can't get multiple readings.  Leaning to the left, leaning to the right. get on fast or slow.  get the same reading!  $69. at Linen and things. My other scale was 5 pounds less.  Health o meter.  I love the new scale.  It is the same as the one at the MD office.

I LOVE my scale. I use to have a cheapie health-o-meter digital that was WAY off. I got a new one...can't think of the name right now but it's glass and metal. You program your height, activity level, etc and it tells you your weight, body fat etc. Anyway I put my 25lb weight on it and it read 25.1 lbs...my old one always ranged between 27-30

I think it was around 60$-70$
I just recently purchased a digital scale. It's a weight watchers brand. It's digital and always gives completely accurate information.

(Except when I first used it on the carpet I thought it was a miracle that I weighed so much less...then someone pointed out that I can't use a scale on carpet...I was bummed! LOL)
I also have the WW scale and did the same thing. Big blow to ego when I realized I needed to put the darn thing on a hard floor, lol.

Louise.
well...here's an opposite opinion. I just bought a digital scale. I can get on three times in a row and get 3 different readings. My next purchase? A balance beam scale like in the Dr's office!
islandguy, do you perchance have a health-o-meter scale?  I have one and the same thing happens.  I've found that if you take the batteries out real quick and put them back in, the scale is at least pretty accurate for that FIRST reading.  I've gotten tired of getting a different reading everytime i got on the scale, so I went and bought a digital one on ebay that somebody recommended.  30 bucks total (including shipping).  Supposed to measure body fat and whatnot, so I'm happy to be getting it.  I just hope it doesn't weigh me 5 lbs more than the old one, haha.
I have a cheap digital scale that I got from Wal-Mart for about $12.  I like the digital because the number is what it is!!  There is no disagreeing on the number.  I need that because I'm the queen of denial..LOL
