I want to throw my digital scale out the window...and watch it shatter on the pavement cause it's making me angry!

When I started CC, I was 155lbs...then I got down to 150 which is right around where I should be. Noooo, says digital scale, who proceeds to weigh me in at 163, 163.5, 161 and 161.5 :/ How in God's green earth can I have gained 10-11lbs in 2 weeks? That would take enormous effort to gain almost a pound a day, no? I tried a little experiment and held 2 22ox bottles of shampoo in my hand and weighed myself again...no change? Uh...there should have been with the shampoo in my hand.

My TTOM was last week...so whatever weight I gained from that should be gone. I know I was bloated like crazy, but yeah, today, my jeans were LOSE on me. So yeah, wheres the 10lbs going?

I'm going crazy with this scale...it's driving me so insane and making me feel like crap. I mean, if this trend continues, I should hit "170lbs" by the end of the month. I mean, come onnn.

Has this happened to anyone else?

okay, well, to really tell if you've actually lost or not: are you "guesstimating" the amount you lost, or did you actually see you lost at the doctor's office? if you're just guesstimating, it is possible that, since you're still growing you gained weight in these past few weeks. not fat weight, because you'd have to be eating over 5000 calories a day to gain that kind of weight and somehow i doubt you're doing that if you're trying to lose! if you're only guessing your weight lost right now, it's possible that you got "thinner" physically but gained muscle weight... or it's possible that you lost weight and your scale doesn't work and you should buy a new one!

I seem to hold onto a lot of water weight. Are you watching your sodium? How much are you getting in a typical day?

Which suggests that your scale is indeed not giving you good readings (but retry it with a couple gallons of milk, or a bag of sugar) and might be in need of a new battery.

I have a digital scale as well and it does not give me accurate readings. I have to step on it and wait a few times before I can get something close to what my actually weight should be. I only use it as a reference at the beginning of my day. I only take the measurements from the gym or the doctors office as accurate ones for weigh ins.

It may also need some new batteries. Or I suggest getting a better scale that isn't digital. I don't think I would ever buy a digital scale again!

Mine does that too.

I just use the one at the gym, even though I have already drank water by the time I get there. Oh well.

Personally, if my jeans fit better, I wouldnt care what the scale said.

My digital scale is off by .2 lbs One day I kept hearing people complain about their digi scales so I put my 2 3lb weights on and it weighed them at 5.8 so I'm glad I know now.

Like others have said - try changing the batteries.

Also, make sure the scale is on a hard, even surface.  If the area you prefer is carpeted, you can buy a cheap large tile at a hardware store to put it on.

If you still aren't happy with the readings, get a new one.
