after dinner , cravings????
I had a good day but then ended up eating more than my calories becoz i was craving for sweet thing chocolate or icecream, what do i do when i get these craving , what should i eat to make me stop want sugar..
please help ..
I'm interested in an answer to this post as well. I know the standby....eat fruit! But sometimes I really don't want another piece of fruit...I want something delictable that isn't going to blow my whole day.
Or something really filling at dinner to help curb those craviings.
Any suggestions?
eat a small piece of dark chocolate because it doesn't require as much to feel satisfied.
those chocolate riesen candies take a while to eat
you can get the chocolate mints that look like peppermints but have green stripes since they last longer
how about pre-portioned 100 cal chocolate cupcakes...they are processed YES and not the best but they satisfy a hunger craving
you can make cocoa as well
whatever you do i would recommend that you avoid depriving yourself completely or IGNORING the craving by eating something else because you'll probably end up dissatisfied and end up eating the chocolate anyway.
This Happens to me all the time , I ignore cravings and end up eating more than desired....
How about having soya milk with some cocoa ... which one has the lowest calorie and tastes nicer .. any ideas .. I dont want sugary taste i want chocolatey taste ..
If i would ignore the chocolatey craving i will have fruit but then i would end up eating chocolate or icecream or crisp ..
That is so Bad :(
Get some dark chocolate pudding and dip a banana in it! Or just eat the pudding by itself!
I second Chrissy on the cocoa. If it's getting late and I'm feeling a sweet craving I'll make up some hot chocolate. I just make it with water because I never have milk (I hate it) so the cals are pretty low. If you're truly hungry, have a piece of fruit with the cocoa or a small piece of chocolate.
If I were you I would eat whatever it was that I was craving, just in a sensible serving size. If I try and eat a substitute for what I really want, I usually end up eating that and then eating what I was craving in the first place because I'm still not satisfied. It works out as less calories (and much more enjoyable eating) to just eat what I really want, and try not to go overboard.
I'd also suggest leaving room in your daily diet for regular treats, so that you don't end up feeling too deprived.
We just bought some mini ice cream "candy bar" flavored treats. They have a variety box with milky way, 3 musketeers, twix and snickers (actually taste just like the candy bar-just with ice cream inside). We found them in the regular ice cream section. They are 80 calories a piece and they are so sweet..I can only eat one and feel fine afterwards. That and dove minatures as well in the ice cream section is about the same about calories. Yum =) I enjoy eating one as my late night snack without feeling guilty afterwards.
dark chocolate coated fruit........ or fundu if you're feeling extra fancy.
natural low gi foods are good. you could laways make a cleansing smoothie or hot chocolate with spices such as a hot cocoa ginger chocolate or a cold strawberry and cocoa smoothie.. or any fruit.
blend fruit with yoghurt and freeze them to make icy poles or freeze bananas coated with peanuts, dark chocolate and coconut. or make your own coconut ice cream or any other flavour using a recipie. green tea ice-cream anyone?
natural sugars found in yoghurts, cocoa, fruit and natural full fat ice-creams and coconut won't harm you, the fat in coconut, dairy and chocolate is good for you as long as its natural and not processed otherwise its deprived of nutrients and is filled with other chemicals.
i always eat an apple
Light hot chocolate. I have it almost every night after dinner. It's the same amount of calories as an apple ( 50 cal) and totally satisfies my need for chocolate!! ( You can always add more powder if you're feeling extra chocolatey!)
I agree w/ the dark chocolate posts & a new thing I am doing is cutting up a whole apple into small pieces, getting exactly 1 TBS of low fat carmel and taking my time doing a wee dip w/ each apple piece. For less than 100 calories my cravings are gone, I feel full from eating the apple slowly and I saved myself an overload of unwanted calories. I rather be over 100 than 600 by the time I am satisfied the craving. One more thing, a new find for me is pouring just a bit of pure vanilla extract in my water. I so feel like I am cheating, it tastes really good!
Skinny cows! I swear by 'em! I simply cannot live without ice cream, and skinny cows do the trick. I take one of the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches and cut them in half and put the other half back in the freezer (in a ziploc bag and hidden behind something else so my kids don't find them....), and it totally satisfies my sweet tooth, my chococlate craving and my ice cream craving. Half a skinny cow is 70 calories and 0.5 gm of fat - barely makes a dent in my calorie count.
I know artificial sweeteners are supposed to make you crave sugar, but I usually find Diet Coke works for me
Or an apple if I need something with "real" sugar.
