What can I have for dinner?

Quote  |  Reply

Aiming for 1000 cals a day, sitting at 866.
Any suggestions? :)
I'm not that hungry, so something light I'm thinking.

P.S. I'm vegetarian!

Why are you aiming for only 1000 cal. a day??

Binged last week, sudden weight gain, always works for me if I do this for a few days

Under eating is only going to cause you to binge again. Think about it, it's a vicious cycle. Oh, and also terribly unhealthy.

Read this.

SALAD!

No one will support you aiming for 1000 calories since that is technically stavation and will likely backfire bŸ causing yoÙ to binge eventually.

How about 350 calories to meet 1200.

Have 1 packet or equivalent of oatmeal (100) with 3/4 cup milk to cook it (60) and 2 tbsp peanut butter mixed in (190)

And that's 350 cals and puts you at the 1200 minimum. Its less than the 1/2 cup serving and not too heavy so if you want to be healthy and reach your goals you'll aim for the minimum at all times and eat more when you're not recovering from a binge but honestly 1000 is not recommended for anyone under any circumstances. Unless of course you're under medical supervision.

Hope this helps!

How about a veggie burger?

Ingredients:
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 7 mushrooms, diced
  • 3 scallions (green onions) diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 small potato, grated
  • 1/4 cup silken (soft) tofu
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
Preparation:

In a blender or food processor, process tofu until creamy and set aside.

Sautee the corn, mushrooms, scallions and bell pepper in one tablespoon of oil for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cumin and cook for one more minute.

Remove from heat and add the carrot, potato, tofu, salt and pepper. Add bread crumbs until the mixture holds together. You may need a little bit more or less than a half a cup.

Shape the mixture into patties and refrigerate for at least one hour.

Heat remaining two tablespoons of olive oil and cook each patty until the veggie burgers are done, about 3 minutes on each side.

Asking for dinner suggestions with only 134 calories to spend seems a bit ludicrous.  OK, I'll bite, have a banana.

Mmmm - Spaghetti Squash with Puttenesca Sauce & Spinach! Sounds good to me at least!

I don't know why some people are seriously answering the OP with recipes to meet her 1000 cal target - come on! Don't encourage crash diets, you're just being irresponsible.

OP: Your post is breaking the following posting guideline:

Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.

merylwhite1, i'm ever so sorry.

To everyone else, thanks, didn't realise 1200 was like a bare minimum! I've upped it to about 1350 a day now anyway, ta :)

I am sorry for snapping - we just get a lot of this on CC and it can become frustrating because it's really unhealthy to eat so little - and nor is it even good for your metabolism.

Glad to hear you have upped your intake - hope you found something good for dinner!
