Disco cake

Yeah, the topic looks weird to me too but thats the scenario.

Will be helping friend decorate a cake for someone with disco theme.  Any ideas? 

How about making the top look like a record -- with appropriate labeling -- something like BeeGees/Stayin' Alive

Lots of colors, and a mini disco ball stuck in the center. Ha ha.

You could make it in 2 9" circle pans, ice it, and you know those little silver balls? The ones that are just sugar? You could use those and create an actual "disco ball" effect by covering the whole thing.

I also really like the record idea! Maybe "I just wanna be your everything", or "I will survive"? So many possibilities!

I was thinking of a dome cake and use multicolored icing to make it look like a disco ball...not sure what's easiest.  The silver sugar balls is a heckuva good idea.

Edible glitter, neon colours, shiny things.

Or make it a giant afro.

I like the idea of the disco ball, and the 'fro... but I also love to cut cakes into interesting shapes..

I'd want to make a disco platform shoe  (by the way, they have disco party accessories here)!
