Just discovered something great about spray butters! Thought I'd share!
You or may not know this, but I just found out and am super excited. I love spray butter to top my toast, vegetables, etc. But, I just found out the equivilancies so that you can cook with it and take the fat and calories out of your baked goods and meals! This information is only true for the Parkay Spray Butter, I haven't heard if it's the same for the other brands.
1 TBSP of butter = 23 sprays
1 TBSP of spray butter = 2 TBSP regular butter
To get 1 TBSP of spray butter, just unscrew the lid and pour. I am so excited! I love cream sauces but dread the fat and calories. Now I can have them all the time and never have to worry! I am so excited. Hopefully, this will help others.
You should be aware that this stuff does still have fat and calories. The serving size is just so small that there isn't enough to "count" for the labeling purposes.
That's right. If you can use 1 tbsp. of spray butter to substitute for 2 tbsp. of real butter, then that 1 tbsp. of spray butter will have the same fat and calories as the 2 tbsp. of real butter. There are no (calorie-)free lunches!
I know when I first started using the Parkay spray, I looked into this a bit, I don't usually use more than 10 sprays per meal, depending on what I'm eating but here's what I found out on a Post from x17star17x a while ago, and I figure it would be the same for the Parkay stuff too:
The entire bottle of ICBINB spray contains around 900 calories and 90 grams of fat.
12.5 sprays has 10 calories and 1 gram of fat, 25 sprays (1 teaspoon) has 20 calories and 2 grams of fat, and 37.5 sprays has 30 calories and 3 grams of fat.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
