Recipe Ingredients for Dixie Stampede Garlic-Cheese Biscuits

1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 T. baking powder
2 tsp sugar
1/3 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine
5 tablespoons butter, melted
1 garlic clove, minced
2/3 cup 2% milk
2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Dixie Stampede Garlic-Cheese Biscuits

  1. Make homemade baking mix by combining first 5 ingredients until crumbly.

  2. Preheat oven to 450F.

  3. Combine the butter and garlic in a small bowl and set aside.

  4. Combine the baking mix with the milk in a medium bowl and mix just until a soft dough forms. Do NOT over mix.

  5. Add the cheese to the dough and stir to combine. If the dough still seems just a tad dry/sticky, go ahead and add a drop or two more of milk or water.

  6. Using a teaspoon, drop the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

  8. Remove the biscuits from the oven and lightly brush with the butter-garlic mixture. Serve warm.
