Doesn't make sense?!?!

I have been sick with the flu for almost a week.  It did not take my appetite away but it did drain me of any energy.  Therefore I've been eating fine and not working out.  In fact, I've gone over my burn by 200-300 calories almost every day this week.  Instead of gaining all week, I've been losing!  I haven't had any diarrhea or vomiting, just fever, sweats, and chills.  I know you can burn more by having a fever but not enough to lose!  Perhaps I am losing my muscle because I haven't lifted in a week?  Please help me figure this one out.  I lost almost 3 pounds in a week and I DO NOT fluctuate very much!  Maybe it's just water weight?  Seriously, what am I finally doing right!? Wink

It's most likely just water...sweating helps you lose water weight.  If you keep losing after you recover from your illness without any explanation, see a dr.

well, i am not a hundred per cent sure but i can only tell u from my own experience...

I don't usually work out on the weekend and im always lighter on Sat and Sun. my husband is a personal trainer and he reckons that wen ur working out, ur muscles retain more water to help them repair themselves and then in a couple of days they release the water. If you are normally working out consistently u wouldn't have seen that fluctuation till you stopped working out...

Also, a lot of people on here recommend giving ur body a break or more cals to break a plateau... maybe it really does work?!
