My dog is better than your dog because....

He's just so darn cute!!!!

He's still a puppy but will be 1 yr on Oct 10th.  His mom is a miniture pincher mix and the dad is a only God knows what- but most people guess some kind of terrier- possibly box.  He has the cutest little "flying nun" ears and has the markings of a boston terrier.  I spoil the little dude big time.

He and my big dog an aussie mix get along great.  The big dude lets the little one get away with stuff like biting his face, cleaning his teeth and biting his ankles.  They sometimes get a little too much "rough housing" and I have to toss em outside.  The little dog might have a bit of ADD - when we play fetch the little dude hasn't quite figured out the whole concept of bringing it back and this irks the big dog to no end.  Sometimes when I throw the ball out of the big dogs tie out reach the little dog goes to get it brings it back to a foot of the big dogs reach and then just drops it and walks off to chase the butterfly or eat the grass and then the big dude barks and barks like " hey stupid bring me the ball gosh darn it anyhow!!"

So who can beat that???

They do sound pretty darn awesome.  Kinda like a cartoon duo..

I take care of a chocolate lab who is a fetch fiend and he actually bring the ball back and puts it right in your hand.  The black lab though goes and gets the ball and then finds a place to lay down in the shade and just chews on the ball - no further interest in fetching, thanks.

Hey, that's pretty funny.  Unless we are talking fetching in the water, that sounds exactly like my Maddie (chocolate lab) and my Jenny (black lab).  You can throw all day for Maddie (or until your arm falls off, whichever comes first) and she'll bring it back and after circling you several times, drop it at your feet.  Jenny will run for it and then take it over to the shade - she doesn't care if you want to come and get it, but she is certainly not bringing it to you!  My son got a cool thing from Cabelas (they have an online store as well as a physical store - but beware - its a fishing/camping/hunting store) - it's a sling shot for tennis balls.  Once you get used to using it, it saves your shoulder from all of that throwing.  Smile

Fetching in the water is a whole 'nother deal.  They both go after the water toys - even if you tell them which one its for.  Though, I will say that Jenny will give it over to Maddie to save herself from being drowned - silly Maddie wants to argue about who brings the ball back in the water (the deep water - silly girl)!

I think they are pretty awesome!

Man... I used to be such a cat lover till I got my beagle...completely changed my mind. I love dogs! All dogs! Love love love them! Cats are still cool...but dogs are awesome!

Your 2 dogs sound just like my beagle (10 years)+pomeranian (RIP 12-23-07 only 8 years old :(). She used to bite as his ears, face, ankles and used to let her. It was amusing. He used to annoy her though...she'd want her space and he'd nuzzle up to her and she'd give him this face and he'd get all frisky and hop around with his butt up in the air and tail wagging like crazy. :) Good times. I think she secretly liked him anyway. ;)

My family got a chihuahua/yorkshire terrier (1 year in oct :)) mix and she's a crazy little thing! She's in love with my dog and he seems to just tolerate her jumping all over him, hehe. My beagle's favorite thing to do these days is sleep or lie in the sun...and sleep some more. Poor little old man, hehe. :)

When my beagle passes away (which hopefully won't be for many many maaaany years :)), I'd like to adopt a smaller dog, hopefully I can find one at the shelter. I would also like to own a mini schnauzer, those guys are so cute!

My parents had schnauzers they are very bright but a bit yippy.  The real nice thing about them is they shed very little!!!

I have a pair of yorkie boys.  Traitor is the strong silent type (well as silent as you could expect a yorkie to be) and Maverick is the mouthpiece.

When Traitor needs to step outside to relieve himself...he stands silently at the back door - staring at it - I guess he is sending me a message by mental telepathy or something - but sometimes I just don't hear it .

But no worries - Traitor can count on Maverick to check on him - then Maverick rushes back over and starts yapping at me...he does his best to let me know that Traitor needs to go outside - he often has to speak on Traitor's behalf.

They are quite a dynamic duo!
