Does your dog or cat do this too?

I like to work out every night on my elliptical machine.  I really get into it and usually get pretty sweaty by the time I'm done.  My kitties are familiar with the sound the machine makes announcing that the program is finished and then they come running.  They can't get enough of me when I'm finished working out.  The rub and circle and nuzzle.  Then they meow so I'll sit down and they can jump in my lap for a while to soak up that delicious something.  Sweat?  Pheromones?  It's funny and some days I tell the program I'm working longer than I intend to so I can sneak past the kitties and get straight into the shower.  LOL!  Anyone else's pet do this?  Wonder what it is?

My dog definitely likes to lick me after I come back from a bike ride. I think it's the sweat...

When I was a kid, my horse loved to lick me- I was his personal salt lick!  Animals are crazy- my newest boy cat- neutered- loves to sniff the other boy cat's whiskers- any thing to drive him nuts.   

the only thing i can think of that cats love the most is heat... when you work out your body will be really hot maybe they can sence it and want get all warm and sleep :) 

My cats purr and rub on me after I do a workout video.  They don't lick me...just climb all over me and act affectionate...but I think it's because I often feed them after I'm done working out, but I stopped doing that and they still climb on me...  Funny animals!!

One of our cats loves to come along and lick my feet and ankles after my workout - she's just lapping up the salt in my sweat, as well as collecting some nice 'outside' smells from my feet.

Yup! Not only do they love when I finish a workout, but they also love dirty socks! It's gross, but true.

Actually, Big Al (my outgoing cat), waits for me to get out of the shower every single morning. He sits on the toilet, then when I shut off the water - he "yells" at me, and then I step out and he's all over my legs and feet, figure 8's and licking my toes. I hate it but he's so damn cute that I just let it happen!

hehehe, cute stories!  My cats love to interrupt my workout when I'm doing abs--they figure that if I'm already on the floor, then I might as well pet them & give them lots of attention. 

The extra sweat increases your personal "smell" and cats are more comfortable if you smell like them.  Therefore, they are probably loving on you b/c you have been paying attention to something else, and getting you back to smelling like them - which is the ultimate goal!  They have very strong glands right above their eyes, so if you notice especially that they are angling their heads and rubbing them on you, they are trying to get your smell back to normal (in cat terms).

My crazy kitty gets under me while I do pushups.  Each time I come down I have to give her a kiss.  It has turned into the most fun game ever.
