My dog motivates me!

I have such a hard time making myself exercise! I truly do not enjoy being hot and sweaty and tired. But I know the ends (particularly MY rear end!) justify the means.

My dog has helped me so much with my motivation, though. HE is very happy and enthusiastic about taking walks! He happens to be one of the best leash walkers I have ever seen, never pulls or jerks, walks right beside me and adjusts to my pace, stops when I stop. And he's not half bad to talk to! His enthusiasm rubs off on me somewhat. And he never complains.

It wouldn't let me see your dog, but that is so wonderful! I have a hard time exercising too. I live in an apartment on campus so I can't have a dog. My boyfriend has an eight-month-old Catahoula and she's crazy hyper--I know she motivates him to exercise her, but I wish I had that! That's awesome that he doesn't pull--that can totally make a walk miserable.

I definitely need some motivation for working out...I was getting up at 5 and jogging at 6 (I need time to sit and drink coffee before I do anything!), but I didn't this morning as it's raining...and I'm lazy. I know I need to work out since it will keep up my metabolism and help me lose weight faster, but ugh...I really do hate it! The one thing I do like to do is cycle. My boyfriend and I have road bikes and we have been going on 25 mile rides. It takes about an hour and forty-five minutes but I burn 1,000 calories! You don't feel like you're working out as much either. I could never run for that long though...so I guess I'm probably not working as hard.

Anyway...back to the dog...I truly think dogs make people happier...their happiness just rubs off! I'm ready to get a dog of my own, but I wouldn't want to subject a dog to my tiny apartment. I guess I'll wait a couple of years for when I have a house.

Not even he could motivate me tonight. I managed a 10 minute brisk walk around the block with the dog this morning, no time for more at that time. Now it's drizzly and wet and icky out.. plus I came home from work and FELL ASLEEP on the couch. (my excuses for the day, I'm not even gonna lie.) It's 9:30 in the evening now and I really am going to do SOMETHING before I go to bed tonight. I'm thinking sit ups and leg lifts.

Makes sense to wait to get a dog until you're situated in a home. Depending on what you decide or are able to do when you are out of the dorm and starting out, it can even be tougher to find a good affordable place if you have a dog. But once you are situated they really do add spice to life! God forbid I ever have to move out of my house and into an apartment, because it would be hell trying to find one that would allow Manson.

Oh! He is super cute!! I will have to put up pictures in my gallery...you can see my boyfriend's dog, Molly. She's pretty much my dog too...I have a golden retriever too, but she lives with my parents. 

You're still better than me. I walk to class...and that was it. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from my apartment to my class. Then my next class is really close by, so it doesn't really count. Then I have ten minutes back home. So at least I moving, but I did not "real" exercise. 

This morning I set my alarm for five. It went off...and then I went back to sleep. How could I possibly run when it's drizzling outside! Heaven forbid I get wet! Maybe I will force myself to do an exercise video later today...I've got a couple intense ones...ugh...that definitely doesn't sound like fun though. Ha. Well, maybe I'll be motivated later.
