Doing good, now suddenly I'm gaining.

Quote  |  Reply

I have been working my butt off for 3 months and have done so good, going from 244 to 207.6. I'm In the gym 5-6 times per week, eating my calorie limit or below, and have dropped 36.4 pound! That's great, but the paet 3 weeks have been like a rollercoaster. I'm doing all the same things, no changes and my weight has gone from 207 to 209, then back to 208, then up to 211, then down to 208, then today it was 212.6. I am going crazy. What in the heck is happening? HELP!!

How many calories do youe at?DO you weigh at same time everyday?

Its best to weight in morning time after you use restroom and be4 youe at to get the most accurate weight.

My limit is 2000 cals and I'm averaging 1800-1900 per day. I'm weighing in the mornings after 1 & 2, if possible, and the weight is fluxuating for no reason I can find.

Maybe you should lower your calories by hundred.

If you dont want to do that go up 100 or 2 for a few days then go back down where you are now and see what happens.

Me personaly i would do the first but i dont know how tall your are so im now sure what the exact calories you should be eating.

(stats would be helpful!)

and i would venture to say you're not eating enough, although without stats that's hard to say, and I also don't know what you're doing at the gym.

I'm a sedentary female and 1800 is my limit for the day.  considering how often you work out, it could be that you're not eating enough?

when i hit a wall i usually zig zag my cals for a few day, and try a different, more challenging, working out to switch things up and get back on track. :)

great work so far though, that's quiet an accomplishment!

I'm 6-0, weighing 208-210. This morning I skipped the gym for a rest and my weight dropped from yesterdays 212.6 to 2120.2. It's been extremely hot here in CA so I think the gallons of water I've been drinking could be a part of the weight gain. I could drop my calories by a 100 easily if it would work or I could try to go up 100 for a few days. It's hard to meet my 2000 cals due to the healthy choices I've learned to make. Maybe it's just the weight loss catching up due to how fast it's fallen off. Could that be a factor?

Just a quick thought--since I believe that muscle weighs more than fat, could it be possible that you are just building up good muscles? Does your body actually seem bigger?  Keep up the good work!

I actually posted a forum similar to yours, I'm going through a similar situation, where i've lost 10 pounds by eating 1200-1500 cals a day and doing cardio, and now im going to the gym, tried doing the same calorie intake, and i stopped losing, and even gained 2 or 3 pounds.

From what people have told me, you shouldn't have a deficit of over 700 calories.  So for me, i was eating 1500 on a good day, and I was burning 3300, essentially kicking my body into starvation mode...basically meaning your body hangs on to every pound because it thinks you're not gonna get a lot of food for a while.

I just increased my intake to 1800, so I'm hoping to see results, even though i could eat upwards of 2300 a day, and still lose weight. I'm 5'9" and 20 years old and female, so my guess is, that you need to be eating far more than 1800 cals a day.  You could also be gaining muscle, which weights more than fat. What does your calorie count meter suggest you eat?

Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?

You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
