What are you doing for lunch today?

Quote  |  Reply

Hello,  I rode my bike into work today (13 miles) and don't have anything here at work for me to eat.

Got any ideas what i should do for lunch?

I'm 5'11 205lbs should try to keep my calories down so I don't erase my bike ride.  Had granola and a banana for breakfast.  There are lots of places to eat around here, including a grocery store.

For lunch today I had some wholemeal organic cracker type things (70 cal for 4) with some caremalised onion hummus (50cal for 1 tbsp) and cucumber (like 20cal?) with a bottle of water. Then some strawberries and raspberries for pudding (bout 60cal) so... total that was about 200 and YUMMY! I highly reccommend it :)

Do you have a can opener?

I brought a can of tuna and some left over pasta from last night.

Now I have a tuna pasta salad for lunch today!

Or the grocery store deli counter may have salad. Get a small salad and a piece of chicken (or some meat) take the skin off and have a chicken salad.

Yummy and filling!

Kasha mixed with fat free cottage cheese and fat free Quark cheese over some iceberg lettuce.

i am boring but i bring the same lunch w/ me to work everyday. A weight watchers pita w/ lettuce, mustard, 3 slices each of low fat ham & turkey, 2 slices of fat free cheese. w/ a side of baby carrots.

1.  cottage cheese with fruit and crackers

2.  a salad with protein and carbs with dressing on the side

3.  soup and some veggies

how about a good old sandwich, egg salad, tuna salad, turkey, roast beef [if you're into that stuff] with an ice cold glass of water or crystal light, some carrot sticks and some light ranch dip and whole grain crackers on the side!

i'm having something like that, except veggie deli slices since i'm a vegetarian. really refreshing, simple, yet delicious.

I had oven roasted deli turkey with reduced fat pepperjack and honey mustard on multigrain bread. Medium sized mixed salad (greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives) on the side. :)

1/2 cup of non-fat yogurt with a tablespoon of almonds, a teaspoon of agave nectar, and two sliced strawberries.

Romaine salad with oil and vinegar.

1 cup watermelon for dessert.

For lunch I had some romaine salad from a bag (which are at Walmart for like $3 a bag. expensive but seriously worth it!) about a tablespoon of fat free ceasar dressing and 4 oz of lean chicken breast. It's yummy and filling. I plan on having grapes later as well. If you're really feeling hungry add a roll into the mix. But be careful on what kind and size of roll!

May I just say  - 13 miles to work?? Holy carp! That's awesome!  I ride my bike to work every day but it's only about 2.5 miles each way, and I still feel quite virtuous about it lol...and only very mildly wish it was further ;)

Well you could always take the scenic route back. Wink My current commute is about 4 miles each way, last summer it was around 7. With good music it's very pleasant. :)

I wouldn't dare listen to music. I need to be fully aware of my surroundings at all times, it's brutal out there. Most of my trip is usually on a trail, so just have to worry about other bikes and pedestrians, but part of the way is on the main roads and there are way too many drivers who are unaware/ uncaring of cyclists sharing the road.

I got hit by a car yesterday. She hit me as she was swerving to go around a car stopped to turn left. Didn't even stop to see if I was ok, just slowed down and shrugged at me when I looked at her and mouthed "sorry" and kept going. I can't imagine adding another 10 miles of road to my trip...besides the serious exercise, I could never handle so much stress!

I had a huge subway craving after the gym today! Since it was nice out the boyfriend and I got the subway and took it to our favorite park to eat it! I got a 6 in" veggie on 9 grain wheat with lettuce, spinach, tomato, banana peppers, green peppers, cucumbers, pickles, salt and pepper, mustard and vinegar with a diet coke and a package of apple slices.

Victoriagirl oh my gosh! I can't believe people! Someone hit you and didn't even stop to help? Wow! I hope you are okay and that women is a **insert bad word here**!!!

Sorry you got hit, and I hope you are ok. That being said not sure what  you were trying to say as it relates to listening to music while riding. Anyway we are hijacking this thread, if you want to continue this discussion feel free to PM me.
