Domino's Pasta Bread Bowls?

Quote  |  Reply

Um. Wow.

If you haven't seen the commercials yet, click here:

http://www.dominos.com/home/index.jsp

I don't know if I'm disgusted or intruiged.

One things for sure, those things are really pushing the carb boundaries...

I wanted to look up how many calories those suckahs have, but alas, they don't have the nutrition info for them up yet.

Anyone want to bet how many calories are in them? :P

Has anyone even tried them? (Or want to?)

I'll take a guess at about 476'000 cals? Am I close?

Do you guys get the pastry bowls as well? We dont get those bread bowls in Australia, just the pastry ones.

I wouldn't touch one of them with a stick! Scary. Who comes up wit this stuff????

Satan, thats who.......he works in marketing I know it!

yay skookum! Thank you for sharing that.

You know the calories aren't as extreme as I was expecting them to be.

I wonder if only one serving filling enough. o.o But it's a pretty hefty price, none the less.

gg80 - Eewww. pastry bowls? That sounds pretty gross. D:

They have these at TGI Fridays in Korea (not if they do back in the US). I went a couple days for my once-a-year hamburger and was disgusted when i saw them ther eas well.

GAK!  I saw those on a commercial the other day and jut about died.  How many carbs can you possibly cram into one entree? Though, I guess it's no worse than eating a plate of pasta with a huge chunk of bread.

That commercial came on and my bf and I let out a simultaneous "BWAAAA HAHAHAHA"... which is a typical reaction for me, but he is an unabashed eater. Orders two breakfasts when we go out (one sweet, one savory), finishes a whole pizza on his own, and I've seen him finish his own dozen donuts, but apparently Dominoes has found his threshhold for ridiculousness.

I too am surprised by the calories... surprised and suspicious, actually. My guess was 1600.

Corduroy-actually you wern't too far off.  I read the article and the calories listed are for one serving; however the bowls are 2 servings each.  Putting them in the range of 1200-1600, depending on which evil you choose.

Wow my whole days calories in one fattening carb filled edible bowl, Thanks Dominoes LOL

I probably will give it a try but try to eat 1 serving (half) God help me Bad Carbs are my weakness.

Adding carbs to your carbs... totally unnecessary but a lot of people will enjoy them. Your typical pizza meal is totally carb-laden anyway - pizza, garlic bread/bread sticks and they sell bready dessert as well. Shrugs.

see, that's evil.  you expect that in the grocery store, but in a restaurant, when you order one entree and it's delivered on one plate, you kind-of assume that it's one serving.

That is kind of evil, yet I can't help but be tempted to want the mac n cheese one. I'm a sucker for mac n cheese. I'd prefer to eat many other things for that many calories, though, especially pizza. and there's not even a domino's anywhere near here!

is it bad that i totally want to try one? =X

mmmm 3-cheese mac n cheese. or chicken alfredo. tough decision.
(there's also a 'build your own' option. PINEAPPLE is a choice of topping).

i guess it's convenient that i'm maintaining then. even though these still can't be very healthy whatsoever.

Actually most restaurants give you enough food for two servings... they just dont have to tell you the calorie info up front.

Those look totally nummy. And about the same as eating a bowl of pasta with a couple pieces of side bread (which I do at restaurants).

I love carbs, and no combination of carbs will ever disgust me, no matter how hedonistic. But unfortunately I can't afford $6 for a single plate of food right now. That's pricey for me.

I guess being broke is pretty handy when you're trying to lose weight, eh? :P Maybe I'll give one a try in the future if they still carry them.

Im intrigued. ahaha. Ive see the commercial for those and honestly Id probably split one with my b'f and just get some wings on the side. Im with you yummy_kity, I love my carbs too. A nice big bowl of pasta is my comfort food.

I got an email advertising these and sent it to my friends asking if they thought these were part of the plot against America!  I mean, REALLY, does America need THIS????

What happened to America - are we really THIS bored...the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza, the Pasta Bread Bowl, the Mexican Style Burger, the Asian Italian Fusion...I am all for trying new things but does it seem like we are running out of new idea to anyone else...I am just waiting for it to all come full circle again when good old slice of cheese pizza gets news worthy excitement buzzing again! :) Just food for thought...

In response to the original question...yes, my original thought when I saw this was ew, pass not so much for me!

i'd say it's closer to three or four.  but that's not the same thing as posting the nutritional information as though customers are going to eat half the meal, is it?

I am intrigued by this new product.  If I get the money to burn on it I may get one....prolly not though.

This isn't a plot to kill America, it's simply Domino's answer to Pizza Hut's pasta.  They're trying to one-up Pizza Hut by giving the consumer pasta at a pizza place plus the pizza-ish taste they love! YAY! *sarcasm*

TBH I'd rather get the Pizza Hut pasta....that lasagna looks delicious.  That with a salad or some vegetables (zucchini, spinach) mmmmm.

I'm personally exremely disgusted, lol.
