"What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
I watched the finale episode of The Biggest Loser and then looked up the theme song...

it has GREAT lyrics and it made me think. What have I done today that I'm proud of?
I think that this is a great opportunity for us to brag on ourselves and give each other a big pat on the back. So tell me, what have you done today that made you feel proud?
I'll start: Today, all of my coworkers went to have Deep Dish pizza at lunch, and I stayed in the office to have the yummy, HEALTHY food that I brought and then spent the rest of my lunch walking outside.
Reason: 4/29/08: Stickied; 5/5/08 unstickied
I did level one of the jillian michaels dvd even though it was tough and I wanted to stop.
I only ate 1/2 of a peanut butter cookie, and only 1/2 half of a foot-long chicken sub on wheat at Subway. Emotionally I wanted IT ALL! I did GOOD!!!!
I bought a hummus/vegetable sandwich today for lunch, and I didn't get a cookie on the side even though I wanted one. Simple eh? ^^
Way to go on the Peanut Butter Cookie.. I can't just eat half... if I put any of it in my mouth, I seem to gobble the whole thing. I have to just stay away from that kind of naughtiness!
Way to go everyone!
P.S. that theme song has popped into my head and given me the motivation to finish my workouts sooooo many times! It's great!
When I exercise, it's mostly on the recumbent bike, but today I got out the real deal and went for my first actual bike ride since about 3 years ago. 35 minutes and boy did it ever feel good! Only got chased by a dog once and it wasn't even a German Shepard, Rotti or something equally as scary! :P
I did AN hour and five minutes at the gym today and kept on going even though I wanted to stop.. I had healthy stuff to eat instead of fast food....
I went to the gym during my lunch break and did 55 minutes of high-intensity cardio. My calories are right on target for the day and my energy level is really good. I can honestly say it is a FANTASTIC day.
Today, I just finished my lunch, and I have already had 17 grams of fiber and very little fat. :) one of my biggest goals lately is to increase fiber and water intake and I'm finally getting there!
I did 30 minutes on my recumbent bike after not exercising for days and days! I have a pot of red beans on cooking to go with the brown rice left over from yesterday and it only has 3 ounces of ham in the entire pound of beans. I could have used much , much more but I restrained myself.![]()
1) - read this post
2) - downloaded "Proud" from itunes
3) - 30 minutes on treadmill and increased my speed and time running
4) - 30 minutes weight training and increasing my rep's
Thanks afowler8 for making us remember to be PROUD and strong
!
went to the gym again! (usually go ohhhhh once a month lol...4th day of working out). i went at a busy time too. usually i try to go when nobody is there cuz i get all nervous around people but i said eff it...they are here for the same reason.
i really wanted a coffee and oreo shake but decided not too because it wasnt in my calorie allowance. i would have had to skip dinner lol.
I ran 2 miles in the time that the army requires for people in my age group. I'm not in the military, but I've been trying to get my 2 mile run under this time for about a month. I blew it out of the water today by 20 seconds!
What a great idea for a thread! Thanks!
I made myself proud yesterday because I tried yoga for the first time. It was only 15 minutes of the beginner's stuff, but it wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be.
So far today I'm proud of myself for drinking my first glass of water already.
so far this morning I've drank two 16.9 oz bottles of water and I'm 3/4 done with my 3rd...I'm proud of me for that
- so far I've stuck to the "right" food choices
- I went for an early morning walk even though I've got Pilates tonight!
- most importantly, I'm proud cos I kept coming back here even though I felt unmotivated for months and it's paid off! I've got my mojo back!
2. I've been running 5.5 miles a day 5/6 days a week
3. I'm finally beginning to see food as a friend not as an enemy
4. I'm finally beginning to accept/love my body :)
