"What have you done today to make you feel proud?"

Quote  |  Reply

I watched the finale episode of The Biggest Loser and then looked up the theme song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbkysd9mQho

it has GREAT lyrics and it made me think. What have I done today that I'm proud of?

I think that this is a great opportunity for us to brag on ourselves and give each other a big pat on the back. So tell me, what have you done today that made you feel proud?

I'll start: Today, all of my coworkers went to have Deep Dish pizza at lunch, and I stayed in the office to have the yummy, HEALTHY food that I brought and then spent the rest of my lunch walking outside.

Yesterday I said "NO" to a piece of the delicious strawberry icecream cheesecake that my co-workers were eating.  I didn't even feel a strong pull to it because I had made up my mind before it got here that I wouldn't go crazy.

I also stayed within my calorie limit yesterday which hasn't happened for at least a week.

Today - there hasn't been enough of it to know.  But I'm on track to have another great day.

I love this because I was feeling a bit down because tomorrow was the day I could have/should have reached my goal (according to the thumbs up on this site). Today was my self-imposed weigh-in and I'm still 2.2 shy from my original goal and was feeling down. BUT-so glad you posed this question. I am proud of myself today because I ran/jogged/walked 2 miles on the treadmill, did a 1 hour Pilates class, and lifted heavy weights for upper body after that. So what about the 2.2 pounds?!?! It WILL come off because I'm NOT giving up and in fact, I'm adding an additional goal of 5 more pounds after that. SO THERE.

Oh, and I ate a turkey sandwich on lite bread-no cheese, healthy pretzels, water and an apple for lunch. No chocolate. For dinner, I'll have a healthy dinner as well.

I AM PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday--  HUMP DAY!

I am pround today because:
1.  I didn't let my super negative coworker effect me today
2.  I went to Jason's Deli with the office at lunch and stuck to my plan of just getting a salad.. while Super Negative Coworker ate a greasy sandwhich with chips and complained about her body
3.  Because today, when I weighed in, I KNEW that there was going to be a loss on the scale.  :)

I got back on the eliptical machine.....I have not gotton on in about two weeks.

"Thank you for posting this today......I really needed to be reminded of that song I always think about it during my best days"~Anita

I have said no to coffee because i have to have it with lots of cream and sugar, which wrecks the rest of my day.  I'm on my second fill from my water bottle, 24oz.  I ate the veggies first for my snacks today. I am not letting the emotional cyclone that current exists between my husband and me wreck or derail my progress.

Nothing i did, but m y two year old stayed dry all morning (he's in undies now) and peed in the potty when we got home. We were out for a few hours-hurray!!!

I revised all morning in a coffee shop and only had skinny coffee, no cookies or cakes!

I'm about to make myself a healthy lunch for tomorrow so i don't waste money and calories buying crap tomorrow!

I went to the gym today to "add weights" to my workout and then got ready for work.  Put on a dress and high heels that I could not have worn six months ago. I feel pretty today.!

Well since it is impossible for me to only eat 1200 calories a day to lose any weight, I decided to get off my butt and step up the exercise now that the nice weather is here. I have hiked 5 times in the last week for a minimum of 1 hour each time (usually 2 hours). Today we pushed real hard and did an extremely strenuous hike for almost 3 hours! I figured I burned over 1000 calories in the 80+ degree weather so I am psyched Laughing yay!

I drank two 32oz bottles of water at work today.  I have never been able to do that within a work day.  I usually can only drink one at work and one at home in the evening!

I can do this!!Tongue out

Great idea!
Today I started a beginners Strength training workout. <3

Today was a good day for me. I was able to run 2 miles and then come home and do 45 minutes of cardio training without stopping. I sweated more than I have in a LONG time but it felt so good after. Yay.
Today I met a client for lunch at Boneheads (seafood) and had an excellent lunch with Grilled Tilapia, grilled veggies, and a side salad. :) :) And even resisted dessert, while my client indulged. It felt nice to be in control.

And I have my gym bag in the car so that I can leave straight from work and hit the gym.

down and .4 pounds today... yeah!

Today, I'm proud b/c I had an 8am meeting and I still made it to the gym this morning!  Now, if I can just take a nap at lunch...  ;)

Okay.....so i was home from work for 5 hours, before i got the energy to do my first session of my new Jillian Michaels "30 Days To Shed" dvd.  I almost went to bed without doing it, but at the last moment i knew i would feel guilty if i cheated myself out of a workout yesterday!  I am proud of myself for not giving into itCool!

I did an hour of yoga at lunch. I had an ad land in my lap to design and post to the newspaper here before 1pm and I almost bailed on the gym. BUT NO! I did the ad super fast and made it to yoga on time. Felt great...now I just have to resist temptations at a party tonight. Free + Booze + Hors d'ouvres = major challenge for me.

Wish me luck!

For the past two weeks i've eaten 12+ squares of chocolate/day. BAD HABBIT.

Today I ate none!

And I had sooo many extra calories to eat heaps of healthier food! YAY!

wow i love this topic

just hearing everyone is making me really push myself to go running right now

wish me luck

great job everyone

*EDIT*  i hiked 1.5 miles and ran 1 mile

I went to a spinning class for the first time in 3 years and I didn't die!!!! ;) I actually feel really good ;) The hardest thing was walking into the class ;)

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?

In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
