"What have you done today to make you feel proud?"
I watched the finale episode of The Biggest Loser and then looked up the theme song...

it has GREAT lyrics and it made me think. What have I done today that I'm proud of?
I think that this is a great opportunity for us to brag on ourselves and give each other a big pat on the back. So tell me, what have you done today that made you feel proud?
I'll start: Today, all of my coworkers went to have Deep Dish pizza at lunch, and I stayed in the office to have the yummy, HEALTHY food that I brought and then spent the rest of my lunch walking outside.
Reason: 4/29/08: Stickied; 5/5/08 unstickied
1) ate what i intended to, no overeating
2) took mom clothes shopping, got her a nice blazer (ahe has a birthday coming up). it is nice to be able to buy parents something they really like
3) was quite succesfull at a work meeting
4) did some serious planning for an upcoming trip out of town: bought healthy food (tofu, veggies) and actually prelogged it to the cc website (i will be away from the computer). of course when i get a nice cheese or extra veg i will tweak the plan, but at least i have a plan!
5) a bit of decluttering my apartment
When it is TTOM, it's so convenient (for me) to just say "yeah, I don't feel like exercising" or "I feel snacky so I'm going to eat poorly", like it's a free pass to fall back into the old habits for a few days of the month.
Though I felt severely lacking in motivation today, I have so far logged 800 calories on my bike. A tiring effort but I'm better off for it!
I got my first A on the analysis...woohoo...I've been trying for a week! :)
Also didn't listen to myself when my head kept telling me, "it's that time of the month, it means you don't have to exercise because you'll just start feeling crappy again," and went out into the very nice 70 degree @10pm weather for a quick jog. Then laughed at whatever negative thoughts were in my head and focused on how I felt alot better after exercising.
I'm also noticing slow, but steady progress in how long I can jog without having to stop, so that made me proud too. Oh yeah, that and the fact that I'm also sticking to this little exercise routine I found in one of my Women's Health magazines that's supposed to strengthen/tone your back/legs/abs/butt.
So I guess I could've just typed "staying motivated" lmao. Nobody ever said I didn't write alot >_>
great post....I tried to stay positive at work and lasted almost all day....I got up an hour early and did a load of laundry, made my lunch for work, did my abs workout, ate breakfast at home (not in the Starbucks drive thru), stuck to my meal plan, OK, I ate a lean cuisine for dinner, but it was low fat, low calorie and tasted like crap - won't be eating those any more.
I'm now on the computer reading about motivation and trying to get my butt off the couch to do my Turbojam dvd.....
Still proud that I did my abs workout this a.m. though!
I actually got up and ate breakfast! I did the first half of my new work out tape and I took my dog for a mile-long walk. I came home and ate a healthy lunch and did some recalculating and found out I can eat another 100 calories and still be at my goal weight before my vacation this summer.
Now, I have to stay motivated to finish my work out tape after I get home from work tonight. Wish me luck.
I got a great weight training workout from brother. I did a lot, and I am proud of that.. Giggle legs say good bye.. My brother done got me hook to 2 days of week of muscle training for the legs. Mon. and Wed, The rest of the week is off on the legs..
I did 2 sets of 4 Leg press-100lbs... BURN!
I did 2 sets of 8-each Leg Standing leg curls 25lbs
I did 2 sets of 15 Decline Sit ups.. BURNING-WHERE IS MOMMY
And no running.. No walking. I did get on a bike before I did all of this.. But I felt great. I was on the bike for 15, and off to do my sets, and out in 45 mins.. Best workout giving by my brother.. LOVED IT..
I also loved what he said, if you carried over 200 pounds off and on during the years.. I know you can press it with your legs.. It was easy.. Very Easy.. I don't get to do over the top weights all the time.. But when I get to.. I really do love it. I'm proud of myself. I'm shaping this body into something wonderful for me to look at.
I actually managed to get up on time, make a great breakfast, and stayed within 400 calories for it! It's one of the first times I've been able to! haha! I feel good :D lol.
First time here. Ok so the Biggest Loser is one of my biggest motivators!!! Last season I used the excuse of "well sure I'd loose a ton too if I had 7 days a week with a personal trainer, no job, no kids, dont have to cook my own meals, and worked out constantly. This season- no excuse a flippen girl won!!!!!!!!!!! I am so inspired by ALI! I went and bought Julian Michaels "30 Day Shred" DVD and so far I have done it 6 times in a row... tonight will be 7! So today I am proud of myself for not making any excuses to sabitage my own life, health, and freedom to live life to the fullest!!!!
Hit my calorie target exactly, ate a lot of veggies and protein for dinner, got work done for my critique on tuesday...
Did my situps, my 30 minutes of cardio and ate two chocolate bars without regrets. Hey, what's life if you can't enjoy your favorite things without guilt.
Hi all... I'm a newbie here...
I went to the grocery store this morning and bought only what was on my list. Nothing else. I wasn't tempted by the smell of the deli or the chocolates, but rather the colors of the veggies!
I am very proud of myself :-)
Hey, great topic!!
I took my kids roller blading and encouraged a fun, healthy workout for us all. Then I found out inline skating burns a huge amount of calories (900+/hr). Woo hoo!! ![]()
Awesome idea for a string. Today I am proud because I am keeping my exercise fanaticism in check - which will result in more sustained activity later on. I am also staying focused on ME rather than trying to please everyone else.
What makes me happy, how will I feel, what do I want to do?? Strange that I don't normally ask myself these questions.
I also set up a 'trial' session with a personal coach to get to the core of my wgt. issues - it is so not about the food. I know all of the nutrition information for all types of food - it is so not about the food.
Best to everyone.
