I dont care if it IS healthy ~

Quote  |  Reply

What food(s) are healthy but you simply dislike them?

My sister ended a visit here and left behind the remainder of purchased of Fiber One cereal. I know there are fans but tried it and knowing that box will not be opened again.

Also water straight - mixed with walmart brand crystal light (peach tea and apple are my preferences) but plain is not an option and never has been since childhood.

I second you on the plain water, I have never been able to get into it!  Everyone asks how I can not like water when it has no taste, but thats it, it has no taste and I am not a fan!

Also oatmeal, cream of wheat, steel cut oats, any kind of hot oat based cereal! I have tried and tried to like them but really cant, I'll eat oatmeal, but I would NEVER choose it over another food like cold cereal, eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit.

too many things ;)

Grape nuts. Yuck! Never again.

  • Sweet potatoes. Sweet and vegetables don't just go well together.
  • I second on the grape nuts. Their soo bland and gross tasting.
  • Cabbage. As saurkraut it's just WRONG! :P
  • Melon family. Such as ; watermelon, cantelope, honey melon dew, ect. I just could never like it! They taste bland also and very gross too me.

xoxo

agree with water... I refuse to drink it.

I don't really like nuts by themselves (in stuff/nut butters are fine) but I don't think that's a bad thing necessarily. The stuff I hate isn't stuff I want to eat anyway- strong cheeses, fake processed cheese, anything overly salty and/or crunchy. Oh an citrus fruits. Can live quite easily/healthily without these!

salmon.....or any fish for that matter.

I really wish I liked it but I keep trying a taste and it's still yucky to me.

I'm not a fan of fresh crunchy veggies...like broccoli, celery, carrots, peppers, etc., especially without hummus or some sort of dip. However, I love my salads (greens, beets, raisins, pears, chick peas), and I love veggies when they've been cooked into other things.

I haven't had grape nuts since I was 15 since I hate them so much. I'd like to try them again to see if my tastes have matured.

I also can't stand grapefruit. It's too bitter for my mega sweet tooth.

I really don't like apples or oranges (especially in juice form) and can't remember the last time I had either one.

Cottage cheese - it's like chunky, sour milk. It's especially unappealing with that gray liquidy stuff settles on the top of it after a few days.

Peas!!! Just say no!

And I'm also a big fish hater, but I know it's good for me so I've been trying to find a way to prepare it that makes it halfway palatable to me. Last night I think I hit the trick for salmon! It actually wasn't that bad. Something I can live with once a week at least. LOL

Not that I think that artificial anything is healthy, but I can't stand artificial sweeteners.  packaged products are always way too sweet - sickening actually.  Those "lite" yogurts are disgusting.  "Diet" juices sweetened with Splenda have an everlasting aftertaste that just won't quit.  I can't believe anybody can stand anything things that sweet.

I prefer to limit my sugar rather than make things sweeter with junk.

  • celery
  • bananas (especially cooked or baked into things)
  • peanuts
  • peanut butter

Yuck!

I am seriously the least picky person when it comes to food...you could give me something that is stale and I'll tell you it's good hahahaha....BUT one food I can't eat ever since I was little is plain celery...I literally feel like I am going to gag when I eat it alone....yuck

other than that I love everything (no joke!)

Amen! I can't even disguise it with peanut butter or in soup. My fiance laughs when he thinks he got away with it by sticking it in food but I can sniff it out like a pig hunting for truffles.

Yeah, I'm the same.  Toss it into some lettuce and, even if there are no pieces of celery in my salad, I can taste it and won't eat it.  Apparently, there's a chemical* in celery that you're either hypersensitive to or you're not - and since it's genetic, there's no training yourself to like the stuff.  It was one of the examples of heredity in one of my genetics courses.  The chemical does seem to be destroyed by cooking, though, as I can tolerate small amounts in stews/soups.

*Using the term in the scientific way; not implying that there's any manufactured additive in celery.

CELERY. Oh god. I HATE that stuff.

Incidentally, to those of you who don't like peas, have you tried petite pois? They're the smaller, younger peas. Have a slightly sweeter taste compared to garden peas.
