I don't eat, but I still gain weight. Why?
Asked by ashley_allen on Apr 25, 2008 in Weight Loss

I am a thirteen year old girl and I weigh 110 pounds. Although that sounds small, I am the biggest one in my class. I have been taking in 700 calories per day because I've been trying not to eat, but I gain. I always eat salads or wraps, not hamburgers. If I don't start losing, I'm going to stop eating altogether. Please help me.

Answer

Unless you are unusually short, you are definitely not overweight. More than half of all 13 year old girls are unhappy with their bodies - don’t be one of them. Why are you gaining weight? Sometimes people make drastic changes for a few days and expect to see dramatic results. But that’s not how it works. Use the Calorie Target calculator to find your requirements and eat a balanced diet at that calorie level.  Get 60 minutes of moderately vigorous activity almost every day. Walking, jogging, biking, dancing, and team sports are examples.  Get 8 hours of sleep because research shows that too little sleep promotes weight gain. Finally, think of yourself as looking great and it will be true.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
