why don't fat people tip?
I know this sounds rude, but why?
I am a server at Denny's and have been for about 8 months now, and I have seriously started to notice a direct correlation between body weight and genorosity....
I'm not saying that "all overweight people don't tip", because that is not the case. I have had thinner people not tip and I have had many chubby people be pretty 'sweet' to me... but when it comes to the obese, umm well not so much. I don't try to treat any one better then another, and I dont discriminate... but honestly I have noticed that very overweight people come off as rude, and rather selfish... even with good service and food.
is it just me? has anyone else noticed this too? (not just in the service industry but in general) I don't want to be stereotypical, but are the 'bigger' intimidated by the 'smaller' and feel the need to think we dont deserve a little credit for waiting on them hand and foot?
please someone explain this to me...

I tip 20% when I think the service was good/reasonable, 15% if I think the service was sub-par, and 10% if the service down right sucks. I use this same scale no matter how much I weigh.
Me too, with one small exception - I tip 25% if the server flashes some skin.
They're not as good as Saber Toothed Tiger ribs.

Or a dollar a dance.
Remember the girls work for tips, and tips alone.
BTW, servers are taxed on tips whether they get them or not, and many places pay less than minimum wage because of tips. Just sayin'.
Tom, we're trying to keep it healthy here. Bronto is waaay more lean than saber. saber tooth tiger ribs are a sometimes food.
Well, saber tooth is not as fatty as woolly mammoth.
whoa this is a diet site, no mammoths here, woolly or otherwise.
If Neanderthals were alive today would they act like the guys in the Geico commercials?
Edit to get back on topic: And would they be good tippers?
I haven't noticed that fat people leave crappy tips so much as they are very impatient. They want their food and they WANT IT NOW!
The restaurant where I work doesn't get a lot of fatties. I think that is more of a Denny's-type-diner. I work in a local, organic, expensive restaurant and the food takes quite a while. At dinner, a table is expected to be there about 2 hours.
On Saturday I had a table of five dread-locked hippies who reaked of marijuana tip me $160.
puts foot on throat of thread and pumps a several shots into its gut, yelling DIE, DIE, DIE
They're probably still wondering what happened to their cash.

Ok, I've heard you call overweight people porkers and now fatties. You imply that they only dine at less expensive restaurants and are impatient. Just curious, do you have any more generalizations or stereotypes to share?
"Why don't fat people tip."
It's what's known as the Weeble Principle.
