I don't feel like working out.

All right, truth be told, it's 20 minutes to 2 pm, and *yawns* I don't feel like working out. Um. At all.

I try to exercise 6 days a week, and my day off was on Tuesday. Haha. Oh, man. Anybody have any tips? I've already done some cleaning today, but it's definitely not a 450-calorie workout. :-\

Maybe I'll do bicep curls with my 20-pound cat...!! Okay, okay, someone help me get goin'!

go take a walk around the block... after one time around give yourslf permission to stop if you don't feel like going anymore, and be done... sometimes giving myself permission to stop actually keeps me going!
I know how you feel.  I felt physically tired yesterday and skipped my workout and have yet to do anything worthwhile today.  I lose my motivation real fast when the scale doesn't cooperate (I gained one pound).  Unfortunately, when I don't exercise, I eat more.

What about cleaning the house with some hard-driving techno music playing?  With the internet and cable TV music channels, there's always something to get your heart pumping.  I think I'll do that right after my husband leaves for work and my six year old goes to his friend's house.  Dancing is my favorite type of exercise, and the amount of laundry and dishes that need cleaning might just burn up 1000 calories if I did them all (to the beat, of course).
Better yet, the way it feels out there today, go swimming!  That's fun and exercise both, and it's a good day for it, too.
Lord, it's hot.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! I put on my workout clothes. Just to get started. I did dishes this morning...gotta tidy up my room...hmm.

I think I'll go to the Y, and work out, but give myself permission to stop as per your suggestion, meljo. That's a good idea! I'm the same way about motivating myself.

Haha mooresci I'm the opposite. When I see a weight gain, I freak, and I'm extra-motivated, you know? But...but that didn't happen this morning. I'm like, "Eh, I look pretty good. What's one workout less this week?" No. No. Can't think that. It's about being healthy.  I've got some house music going ;) it's getting me more in the mood...

pandajenn it's so hot!!!! You're right, though. The pool at my apartment complex is overridden with children at the moment though. Yipe.

And I'm off! To the Y! I swear. Root for me!

I just took a week off of the gym, and I think it was a great thing. I couldn't wait to get back in. Sometimes you just need a break and for me it's hard to differentiate when I need a genuine break from when I am just being lazy. So I took off the week and now it's outta my system for a bit.
Phew, a week? I go stir-crazy after a day! I went on vacation two weeks ago and didn't have access to a gym...drove me crazy...but maybe you're right, sparksline, maybe I should designate a week where I only work out 4 or 5 times. :)

Well, I did it. I went to the Y. 30 more-painstaking-than-usual minutes on the arc trainer, 15 minutes on the stationary bike, and then I spent about 10 minutes doing weights on my legs.

Thanks for getting me going, guys! Now I need a SHOWER.

It's so hot I don't feel like sitting up.
I usually do 32 mins/4 miles on the elliptical machine every day, but yesterday I decided to RUN on the treadmill.  I did a half a mile at 6 miles per hour and lemme tell you the difference between that and the elliptical was HUGE!!  My calves are burning today.  Definitely need to start running more.  I'm surprised at the difference!  But then, today I didn't feel like working out at all, so I slacked, hehe! =)  I must have walked 5 miles at work today though, so I guess that counts for something!
I'm gonna try running when I get home (assuming it's not too too late at night.  Stupid errands).  I haven't run in a really long time, so we'll see how long I can go for.
Way to go making it to the Y yesterday, that's really hard when you really REALLY don't want to! Congrats!
When I don't feel like working out and I feel like I can't stand it at all, I go for a walk. If you walk to the grocery store and walk home with your groceries (obviously you can't shop for a family in that trip!) then that'll build some arm strength!

Any old time, walking briskly for an hour freshens you right up! It doesn't really feel like work but it's good enough to tie your body over, and it's better than if you did nothing at all!
