Of course you wish you hated food because you can't control yourself!
If I ask the whole world if they love food, of course they'll say yes!
EVERYONE loves food, and it IS like a drug, because we ALWAYS need it.
This is how I got started
1- Motivation: This is the first step, and is individual to each of us. It can be personal, health related or even event-based (such as needing to wear a certain gown for a wedding). Or you can also get support from anyone on CC.
2- Set The Mood! Make your environment a positive aura. Eliminate foods from your kitchen that may take you off your program. Make eating enjoyable. Why not try having candles at dinner, or drink water from a nice wine glass? This might help you appreciate every bite of the food you are eating, help you eat slower and your brain register when it is full.
3- Lose Weight, Not Pounds Putting a number on weight loss gives it such a negative feeling. Its certainly better to lose a single pound versus none, and also remember it is better to maintain lost weight than to watch the scale increase. Focus on overall success!
4- Quality Time! You dont need to go away to have a relaxing vacation. Just a few moments can do the trick. Try going for a walk outside, or go take in a movie by yourself. Taking time for yourself will help you occupy your free time with more fulfilling activities than eating, therefore not only helping you lose weight but also feeling better about yourself, who couldnt use that?
5- Get In Motion Start moving that body! Joining a gym is a great idea, but only if youll actually go. If you dont have the time, save the money. You can stay active by riding your bike, doing yard work, cleaning your home, chasing the kids around the house, etc. You may also try an exercise video or workout machine. Any increased physical activity, of any kind, is better than none right?
6- Choose The Right Program For You Not every weight-loss program will work for everyone cuz we are all different. You know what you will most likely have the best chance of following through with. If you have a sweet tooth, you know that limiting carbs would probably not work for you! Some people succeed best with the ?point system,? while others would rather try a ?low carb? plan if they crave heartier meals! Choose a program that you can stick with.
7- Get A Check Up Getting regularly checked by your physician and keeping your health up is so important. Avoiding smoking or drinking is ideal, and ridding your body of excess calorie intake, getting enough sleep, and taking a multi-vitamin will shape up your insides and help you feel overall healthier and more energetic.
8- Take Charge Of Your Habits Starting with baby steps is vital. Dont feel you have ?blown it? after one slip-up. Keep your fridge stocked with fresh veggies and clean out those lurking temptations (you know the ones -- cookies, snacks, etc). Pack a decent lunch instead of using a drive-thru. One change is better than none, and will probably lead to more. Its undeniably empowering to be in charge and in complete control of this one aspect of your sometimes seemingly unmanageable life! 9- Be Good To Urself You dont need to wait until youve completely fulfilled all your weight loss goals in order to reward yourself! Dont wait to buy yourself a new shirt, buy it now! You deserve to show off the new transforming you!
10- Finaly Think Positive This one is simple. Avoid stress. (Just kidding... that is a very unattainable goal.) However, a new concept can be to ?think happy." Laughing, smiling, and thinking good thoughts will make you healthier and help you keep things in perspective. Learn to see the bigger picture and as they say, ?don?t sweat the small stuff!? Remember the future is limitless, the possibilities endless, and the sky?s the limit!
So that is how I got through my weight loss! Hope this helps

I am finding that you have to be systematic.....Use the eat meter, the food analysis, and food log.....Weighing and recording everything is time consuming, but it does help.....Realize that if you eat enough for a ??? pound person, you will be ??? pounds....It is nice to see when you do not use all the calories you can have. I get smug about it.
The first thing I would do is change your name stuckonflab. You don't realize how powerful what you say to yourself and others is. Your photo is adorable and you should have a name that says something about what you want to happen like, happyloser or stucknomore!
Don't give up you're here to learn what to do. Read this site it is great!

I can totally relate to your overall mood. I think the thing you should trust in is that once you have a little bit of success, it will motivate you even more! I've lost about 7 lbs on this site, and although it seems small compared to the other huge successes, I REALLY feel like I've accomplished something and it makes me want to work harder. Keep at it! and the motivation part will get easier!
Secondly, sharkbev is right! you are totally cute! Hunny don't sell youself short, do it for you! You'll be healthier and happier!

Peaceloveandvolcom had a great post...
#1 thing is to change your mindset! Relax and think positively. The scale will result in thanking you negatively ;)
That's the most important part of it for me... my attitude!
Then just set small goals that you CAN acheive, buckle down and get it done. You CAN do this. It's all in your head that you can't. We all stumble, trip, fall, and have to climb back up. Just don't give up!
Best Wishes hun. Keep your chin up!

stuck, i think when food has that much power, you have to consider the fact that it's not about food. you're probably compensating for some other need. what's missing in your life? what do you wish you were doing?
this isn't just directed at you; i suspect that most of the people around here are compensating for something!
