I just received an e-mail message (not my C-C mailbox) from someone whom I do not know.  He told me I was looking good, that I'd "gotten into real good shape" and that God was certainly proud of me.  He then proceeded to ask me if I like s*x!

I am a happily married Christian woman who did not intend to have people I don't know contact my private e-mail out of the blue, especially when the content is offensive.

I've notified Erik of the incident, and taken my private e-mail address off my profile page so this doesn't happen again.  Lesson learned, folks...

thats exactly why the email addy i have on here is basically the only one i use for cc and really nothing else............

As a general rule, you should keep your e-mail addresses close to your chest.  The Internet is about as public a space as you can get.  Don't make identity theft or harassment easier than it already is.

I had that lesson learned the hard way myself (not propositioned for sex, someone took a personal argument we were having and took it to email.).

If you're OK with EVERYONE, friends, enemies and trolls alike having your email, go ahead and post it. If not, don't bother. :)

Hey, I am sorry that happened to you!  I'm glad I've never posted my e-mail addy here.  I have however given it to a 'few' people from here.  There are too many whack-jobs out there.  Maybe it was about time for a new/updated e-mail addy?

Spirochete, no it would not have been OK, no matter if I'm Christian, atheist, Jewish, whatever.  If he saw my profile he would have seen that I'm married with 2 children.  That needs to be respected no matter what.

You're 100% right, no one should be bothering you. Sadly, that's not how the internet works. You put your pics and email up so you can connect with the fine folks of CC but then some perv  hits you up. It's never going to change. My skin is a lot thicker; I just ignore crap like that. There's really no reason to get so bent out of shape about it. I don't give out a lot of personal info for safety reasons. If someone got my anonymous email (one I give out on forums) and said something off color, DELETE and forgotten
