bulimia doesnt let you lose weight.. people actually gain from it
try to work on overcoming the binging, get that out of your system & im sure youll lose weight :)
Could it be that you are fighting the inevitable?
You have to stop ignoring your body. Homeostasis is the key. You have to change that which is "normal" before you can gain or lose weight. Your body has its own built in "Normal" meter and it makes a lot of adjustments to stay in the "normal" living stage. When you brutalize it by eating and bingeing, it does what it is programmed to do and goes hunting for the nutrients to keep it running. It starts with Muscle, as it is the easiest place to get the nutrients it needs. It takes more energy to break down the fat and convert it to a useful fuel. When you eat the right foods in the right quantities and get a nice daily routine for exercise in place, your body will do it’s job and normalize things. If you want to lose weight after that, you need to lightly increase the proteins and decrease the carbs and exercise more. Time is the key. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. It will take some time to stabilize.Another thing to think about: What really is the most important, Looking like a model, or being healthy and happy?

yeah . theses binges get pretty serious.. like Stuffed crust pizza. Ice cream and the works last time. so.. it could possible screw up the whole week. But. Ill try tracking more carefully too. Could it be Carbs ? i doubt it . There Good carbs though .Every single one is Whole grain . wheat. Nothing enriched.. The word enriched on the Ingrediants Freaks me out. so . Iam pretty good with that. So idk . But i REALLLLLLLLY appriciate your help =]
aw.. sk8terdude, I can totally relate to you, I came off bulimia three months ago, and sometimes random binges still bother me. I would tell you to keep as far away from your trigger foods as humanly possible, but I know this is sometimes unrealistic, and food is going to be everywhere. It's just a day-by-day, baby-step-by-baby-step thing.
You could try pre-occupying yourself into another activity that has nothing to do with food, or go out with friends more so you'll have less leisure time to hear the kitchen's treacherous siren calls. Or, when you feel a binge coming on, close your eyes and picture yourself not. Not going down to the kitchen, not picking up the phone and ordering those damn cheesy bites pizzas, and not opening your mouth and putting food in. Just picturing actions in your mind can help you bring them to tangibility in real life.
Hope it helps, and hang in there. :)
As a 139 lb, 17 yr old male, @ 5'6" you have a BMI of 22.4, and @ 5'7" you have a BMI of 21.8. Both BMIs are right smack dab in the middle of the healthy range. Why are you trying to lose weight? As you are recovering from an ED, why don't you just focus on a healthy lifestyle at your healthy weight? Pump some iron & eat maintenance.
Edit to add: The reason you're not losing is probably because you're already at a healthy weight & your metabolism is a little slowed from bulimia. So, please, don't torture yourself.
