If friends are a distraction, why don't you try involving a friend or two in your workouts? Go for a walk with a buddy and try healthier foods together. Try to get your family to keep healthy foods in the house and keep the junk food out. Make your health a priority. Hope this helps :)

I was once in this kind of situation. I am also 15, but I am a boy...

I was like, ok I have to do something, but then I thought of all the distractions. You just have to make excersising your top priority. Like you HAVE to do it no matter what. Only exception is your on vacation or you absolutely can't do it. I excersise right after I eat in the morning, which is around 8:50. I remember I used to make promises so often to myself. Only the next day they would be broken by "I don't want to run", and, of course, food.

Running for me is hard. So I picked up a jump rope because I saw my brother doing it for wrestling and just started seeing how many I could do just because. Then I started getting more serious and thought, "Hey, this could work." It took a while but now I jump rope for 60 minutes 10 minutes at a time at a pretty fast paste. At first I could only do a 100 jump ropes and have to take a break. Well now I can do like 350-500 jump ropes in a minute and do that for 10 minutes. After a while your body gets used to it and gets better at it. You just have to keep at it. So buy a speed jump rope at a sports place, workout place, or wherever. It really is a good workout, and I have an area where I watch tv and jump rope at the same time, so that's cool! The best thing about it is, it is as hard as you make it. So make up your own workout routine.

Don't call it dieting. A diet is where you make temporary changes and then you stop the diet and you gain it all back. You have to make a life long commitment. That doesn't mean making a commitment to starving yourself. Eating healthy isn't eating 1,200 calories, starving yourself, and always thinking about food. Eating healthy to me is avoiding soda, things like pizza, fatty snacks like potatoe chips, and other things you know aren't healthy. But you can have treats every once in a while. Being happy is healthy too. So don't make everything OFF LIMITS. Just have them as a very special treat.

I don't really know when I started excersising, dieting, and losing some weight. It all slowly developed. It wasn't all at once. I never made a promise to myself. I just kept adding on to it and it kinda snowballed. So you might just want to keep it simple at first and it might be easier to refuse things then it used to. Then add to it...

Well hopefully this book will help you out a little, lol. I'm not the kind of person that says"YOU CAN DO IT, DON'T GIVE UP." I already know you can do it. Anyone can. It is just very hard to do. But if you have the right mindset and willpower, you will be successful. Good luck!! :)
