you know it is

Im pretty much scared of eating.

I dont want to become overweight again.

I think im going to have a mental breakdown sooner or later.

Im really scared is their anything you guys suggest i do?

Im 16 weigh about 108 and im 5'6

please help =(

Don't be afraid. Food is not the enemy, it's just about sensible self-control.

I'm in a less extreme but similar situation to you. I'm your age, 5'7" and weigh 114 and lately have been under-eating and I know it's not right.

I love food, but I hate my body. It's a dilemma for me. You're going to get a lot of exasperated replies to this thread saying "just eat more" like it's that easy to do. It's hard... I know it is. But by under-eating you're causing your body to hold on to every fat cell that it can. The only way for you to continue losing weight past a certain point is to up your calories. So that's the facts out of the way.

Now, on to what you do next. If you want to maintain, and not gain, but up your intake so that you're not damaging your body, then it's best to exercise regularly if you don't already and increase the calories by eating more calorie-dense food. That way you don't feel like you're eating HEAPS. If it helps, ease up your calories slowly - that's what works for me. Let me know if you need any support - you can beat this!

You are at the lowest weight level for your age, with a BMI of only 17.4. You could gain 20 pounds and still be within that healthy BMI range for 16 year olds.  That means you should be eating at least 2000 calories a day, more if you are exercising.  Take into account that you are still growing and you are supposed to get bigger, not smaller.  It looks to me like you are aspiring to be at a child's weight.

If you are having a problem with this, then seek medical/psychiatric help.  We can't help you here.

Talk to someone; your parents, a school counsellor, a doctor. Explain what's going on in your head and your eating behaviour.

Reaching out to get help is what you need to do right now.

Hey guys, timeout.

I believe there is a group of kids out there with nothing better to do this summer than play with you guys by posting bs stuff and watching you take 30 minutes to respond to it. Please, don't play their game.

Wait, why no dinner? Dinner is my favorite meal of the day!

This isn't going to happen....  You're 16 and your body is still growing because it needs to develop.   If you've been starving yourself and you eat more, your body will gain weight as it repairs.   So if you accept that you need to eat more you need to 100% wholeheartedly embrace that you're going to gain weight at the same time.  Have a look at the following questions.

  • Do you make yourself Sick because you feel uncomfortably full?
  • Do you worry that you have lost Control over how much you eat?
  • Have you recently lost more than One stone (14lb/6.5kgs) in a 3 month period?
  • Do you believe yourself to be Fat when others say you are too thin?
  • Would you say that Food dominates your life?

If you can answer 'yes' to two or more of those questions you should see your doctor and be checked out as you are very possibly suffering from disordered eating.  You're not being 'flamed'...  just being given some friendly advice.
