First of all what are your statistics, age weight etc.  And how much are you eating every day?  In order to gain weight you need to eat more calories than what you burn.  In order to gain one pound you have to eat 3,500 calories above what you burn.
It's good that you are trying to gain and you have asked your mom to help. Take her advice, eat her food and get better. But do I understand you correctly in that you think that you lost three pounds since yesterday? That is impossible so don't worry, just keep up the eating, increasing your calories over time and don't worry about the number until your next weigh-in.
i'm thirteen years old, i don't like to say my weight, let's just say under 70?
Littleteeny, in light of your situation, and that you really want to get better, I should say that if you are really truly concerned that you have lost weight please tell your parents immediately. Ask for their help ok? But keep eating!

I hate to advocate this, but it's time for you to start eating dirty until you get to a healthy weight. That means Big Macs, Whoppers, Fettucini Alfredo, cookies, cake, ice cream...literally the worst foods you can get your hands on.

Right now in your situation, the benefits of eating junk food outweigh the negatives.

are you sure that's a very good idea? i learned in school not to eat that?

who cares

losing more weight isnt a good idea either

you will die if you dont gain weight

For right now, in the situation you're in, it's really the only choice you have.

Don't think in terms of good or bad anymore- you can't afford to, or you will die.

k i don't understand you; first you try to justify your small weight as being a little teenager whos only 4"10... but now you are admitting to an eating disorder

stop trying to act so "innocent" you know very well that you need to be healthy, stop being ignorant... to get your period you need to have a certain amount of body fat, it is not because your friends developed "early" it is because you have starved yourself away from ever being able to develope...

keep eating; you are not going to loose weight for ever, it just happens in the beginning... you WILL die if you don't; or at least face very serious health problems soon enough

i don't even know how your parents could let you get so small... for shame

WHOAH carmen. It's not okay to talk like that.

It's just not.

This is earth. We are mature, socialized human beings, and we respect the feelings of those around us.

Only the eating disordered understand the eating disordered.

littleteeny, you need to do this the right way. you have so much life so live, so much love to experience, you need to recover. and being encouraged to start binging is not good.

nature has plenty of healthy food already.

buy some nuts. eat a handful every hour.

drink milk! eat eggs, and home made french toast.

ask for a therapist. it's ridiculous if you don't already have one... at your weight, you should get some help. because i care about you.

I completely agree with julia when it comes to the food ideas.

Try to drink 1% milk instead of skim. If you do drink milk, I am sure it was skim. I'm not going to tell you to go to 2% right away because the taste of it at first will be too different. Drink 1% milk. Drink 3 cups a day. any kind of cup you can find, it doesn't have to be 8 ounces.  you can afford the calories right now. also the calcium will help strengthen your bones which are probably weakened due to your ed habits. plus milk has protien in it too to help with building up your muscles again.  You are young. you can do this.

Also eat nuts. they have healthy fats in them, minerals, and vitamins that you need. your body needs fats to keep you healthy. to absorb vitamins better, and to help keep your hair and skin healthy.

If you have any sugar free foods in the house, try to get rid of those. get the regular versions. it might be hard at first, but don't count every calorie. You need to get healthy, and that means gaining weight.

And pigging out on big macs or other fast food items may not sound healthy, and they normally aren't. but you need to gain.

If the unhealthy-ness really bothers you, then why not try a baked potato with cheese, "homemade" style chilli, steak, mac and cheese, pasta with meat or marinara sauce.

Drink fruit juices, they will supply you with vitamins and extra calories. all good for you right now. I know its easier to drink calories than eat calories when you are trying to gain. especially if you don't feel hungry.

lol

for the record i understand where this little girl is coming from, okay? i have been there... just sick of hearing this story over and over.

sorry for the offense; but it seems when you politely tell someone to change their ways, they just try to keep justifying themselves... a little *slap* here and there sometimes helps....

i know it did for me.

Juliarose why do you think Carmen has posted inappropriately? IMO (and as one who is also in recovery from anorexia), she is completely accurate. Tinytot already knows she's at a dangerous level of weight, and I suspect she also knows what she needs to do.

I'm glad her dad broke the scale--she doesn't need a reminder of her weight right now, she needs to be working on eating more calories. Carmen is also dead on the money that Little Girl will die if she doesn't start eating.

I will grant you that in a sense it's totally her choice, except that she's a child. Were she my child, I'd be a lot more in her business than it seems her parents are. But I'm not her mommy, I'm just another stranger on the internet, although one who's walked in her skinny jeans.

Choose life, Littletiny. You are the only one who can make this happen.

You don't have to eat "junk food" to gain weight. If you eat things like peanut butter, fatty fish, baked potatoes, avocadoes, nuts, bananas, whole milk, CHEEEEESE!, chicken breast on wheat bread, whatever, you can still gain, providing you get adequate calories.

Even if I was underweight, I wouldn't load up on foods that have a lot of salt or chemicals, like hot dogs or cup ramen. You want to gain weight, not be bloated and sapped of energy.

Good luck to you, eat hearty!

I would normally agree with you, but she weighs less than 70 lbs.

We'd be doing her a disservice if we told her there was such a thing as junk food right now.

Okay I hate to say it but u need to delete your accout on this website, I am serious. I was anorexic when I was in 7th grade and used to come on these forums all the time and it seriously just fueled my obsession. My eating was regulated in likme 9th grade but now I am in college and still have disordered eating and I struggle every day to make it normal, some days, weeks and even months are better than others. Please get out while you can, I have had disordered eating habits for 7 years and i hate hate hate it and wouldnt wish it upon my worst enemy. I have such a healthy exterior and know all the rules to eating healthy, and do, for the most part but I will never let go of that control thing.

I was never under 70, but I am also over 5'8. Please get help. please look at these words I am typing to u and realize I want to save your life. Please read that sentence again. Please understand your problem is not about society and magazines and being skinny, its about control. Control over something in your life, the only thing you can control, it feels SO good to have control doesn't it? But have u realized u dont really have any control, your ed has controlled u? Do u know that guys will make fun of u, I get made fun of for being skinny. I didnt get my period until I was 18 because I had to take special pills to get it, I may never have babies now. I am a 32 A because I never got my period and will probably always be. I have serious stomach problems and my stomach hurts a LOT a LOT of the time. Being skinny doesnt make me happy. Being normal and being CLOSE to normal (which I am now) make me happy.

Save yourself girl. I did it...I got help so I didn't die. And now I'm still thin, a complete health nut and sometimes have relapses but for the most part I am cured. I have disordered eating sometimes but not an eating disorder. GET OUTTTTTTT!!!!!!!

and by the way eating big macs and candy is the best way but she cant just force feed herself bc ther eason she is on here posting is to get attention, thats why i did it. to vent. unless she wants to recover she wont and eating those fatty foods will freak her body out as well as her emotional self. she needs a therapist more than anything right now.

I'm not talking about avoiding high-calorie foods, just high-chemical foods.  I honestly hope she loads up on plenty of high-calorie foods, but salty, chemical-laden foods are not nourishing!  IE, a homemade lasagna dripping with cheese is far preferable to a nitrate-laced hot dog. (and if you eat enough it has more calories anyway.)

definitely, to the person above me.

there is a distinct difference between healthily high calorie and junk food.

by the way, littleteeny, are you eating more? taking any of this advice to heart?

If your parents have insurance for you, advise them to get you a tharapist and a nutiritionist.  The nutritionist can help you gain the right way, and help figure out how much calories you need to eat.
I agree with ritajade.

Get your parents to help you to get some professional assistance!

You can get better, and the fact that you are asking for help in this forum is a good first step.
