don't talk to me...

Since it appears that 98% of people in our forums do NOT want anyone to talk to them at the gym...

And since it appears that there are other places you don't want to be spoken to...

perhaps a list of places or times when you are annoyed with people talking to you.

To start with what we know or expect...

1. at the gym

2. at the hairdresser

3. when i'm getting dental work done

4. while i'm getting a pap smear and/or breast exam

5. ???

5. In the ladies' room while one of us is in a stall.  I find that majorly uncomfortable.

6. While watching a movie or reading a book

7.  At the office.

8. When I'm working - surprise, surprise, I LIKE what I do.   I don't want you standing behind me telling me all about what cute thing little Johnny did last night.  I guess me continuing to type while say "uh-huh, uh-huh" to everthing you say is not enough of a hint.   I'll socialize at lunchtime, thank you.

9. Anywhere (unless your coming onto me and I'm interested, then its ok :D )

OMG in the ladies room is the WORST absolute WORST!!!

and I really can't think of anywhere I want ppl to come up and strike up a convo, except in a bar/club/party setting.

I'm quite introverted (until you get to know me, then you can't shut me off HA)

 I had a boss that liked to do this. One day he came in, starts talking, and I never even turn around. I kept typing and said NOTHING. He just left and never mentioned it again. LOL

It tweaks me when people in line ahead of me/others talk to the cashiers/check out people a lot. A little chit chat is fine in passing and understandable. It's when they start an extensive conversation. It's like...... seriously?. Nobody should be allowed to hold up the line with that.

 I'm very considerate of the people behind me waiting at checkout lanes. Etc. People can be friendly without holding everyone up,imo. It may be the person at checkouts fault. w/e It may be the customer fault. Either way: Please... make it stop.

11. while riding on public transit, especially if I'm reading.

I'm sure that wasn't helped by my very first exam - doc gets the quackers in and says (all star-trekky) "we have the cervix in sight"

I agree with all of those except the hair salon and getting pedicures.  I find it weird and uncomfortable for the whole thing to be done in silence.  Fortunately I think most of them will follow your lead and if you don't say anything they assume you don't want to talk, but if you do, then conversation is OK.

Ooo... I have another one: during a massage.

when i'm having a mood swing,that's like 20hrs out of 24 but you got to guess at the right hour.......it changes.....sometimes its broken down into smaller windows of opportunity....you just got to take your chance
