Don't want to change your eating habits or exercise routine but want to lose weight?

TOO BAD!

I'm so frustrated with people thinking they can lose weight without putting in the effort. And not only that, but others on this site are encouraging them to quit and it is just not right. This is supposed to be  a support group. Support includes telling people what they don't want to hear when it is necessary.

So here it is. If you want to lose weight, you can crash diet, starve yourself, and workout obsessively. When you are done, and you decide that you can no longer put yourself through this (which WILL happen) you will gain all of your weight back plus.

If you want to change your lifestyle, its going to require putting in a lot more effort and time. Personal trainers and nutritionists do not wave a magic wand and make you thin.

AND....If you don't want to provide the support and advocacy that this website is supposed to provide, then go be unhealthy in your own little world and let the rest of us succeed where you can't.

Thank you for listening to my rant. Sometimes a girl just has to vent.

lol

Magic pills/plans just remove money from your bank account and leave the weight where it is.  Wink

Amen. Don't waste money. Just put in the effort and the time. As those who have already lost weight know, it is SOOOO worth it. It makes me sad to know that some people will never get to experience the happiness that comes with feeling GREAT about yourself just because they want to cheat and complain their way through. If they only knew!

Yes! i went here because i thought it was someone really immature. your rant made my day!

I laughed when I saw the "too bad!".  All very true :)

Much accolade.

::Applauds::

My addition: For those upset that they've only lost 6 lbs in a month, welcome to the real world of healthy living, that's how it works.

Well said. :) I`ll take actually living, while making small adjustments to my lifestyle for half a year, over locking myself in my room for 2 weeks with nothing but cabbage and celery sticks.

And the crowd goes wild.... "applause"

You hit the nail right on the head.  I've been so frustrated the past couple of days because of one poster in particular who posted in a forum that they have been working out to the point of passing out, eating like a bird and not losing weight....Hmmmmm.

And they don't want to count because they think it's an obsessive trait.  I have just wanted to scream "THEN GET OFF THE CALORIE COUNTING SITE AND SIT YOUR BUTT ON THE COUCH!!!!"

So I'm so glad you are ranting--because you are NOT alone.

Oh thank God.  I was worried that this was going to be something stupid....

You would think that all of this information would be common sense:  You have ONE body, FOREVER.  Treat it well.  Move it.  Feed it.  No one's going to do it for you, no matter how much you pay them.

You can cry all you want to the forums about how you CAN'T eat more than X or NEED to workout for X hours to lose weight, but in the end, the only person that gives a crap what damage you do to yourself is you.  I'm not you, I don't even know you, the most I can do is tell you you're wrong and walk away with a clean conscious.

I always chuckle at the 'can`t eat more than x cals' posts.. makes me wonder how that etra bit of weight made its way onto their bodies then.

People who expect to drop weight by snapping their fingers make me want to shake some sense into them.  The weight didn't find its way onto your body instantaneously, why would you expect it to come off that way?  Yes, losing weight is hard, and yes, it requires a full commitment and lifestyle change...but nothing that's worth doing is ever easy.  Also, people who're "naturally thin" usually make a habit of eating healthy...and the ones who don't are unhealthy, or won't be thin for long.  If you're not willing to change your life to be a healthy weight, you'd better start accepting the size you are.

Thanks for letting me add to your rant. :)

Well said!!  My next door neighbor and I both are trying to lose weight.  She keeps going on these crazy, unhealthy, and unrealistic diets.  I tried to tell her the weight would come back but she won't listen.  You are so right that sometimes you just have to be honest and say it like it is.
