Don't waste a moment

I just got done watching Biggest Looser, followed shortly by How To Look Good Naked (LOVE that show!) and was really struck with something...

We waste SO MUCH TIME being worried about how we look in comparison to others.  We waste so much of our oh so very precious time and energy beating up on ourselves for what we view of as our flaws.  Why not take all that time and negativity and flip it to the postive!?  Why not celebrate our successes- however big or small, our positive traits, the beautiful parts of our bodies and personality.  The world would be a so much brighter place if we all had just an ounce more of self love and confidence.  If we told ourselves healing stories and recognized our own beauty instead of filling our heads with negative self chatter, and self doubt. 

Stick a note on your mirror that says a trait (or more!) that you like about yourself, a list of people who love you just as you are,  a list of things that you're good at, or even something as simple as "I AM BEAUTIFUL".  That way, every time you go to brush your hair or teeth, put on makeup, or put on deoderant (in those cases probably in your underwear!) you will see it and be reminded.  You are all of those things, truly.  The rest is just a myth and a lie that may be easier to believe, but that does nothing to serve you in the end except give you an emply life full of wasted time and regret.

A friend of mine wrote this in her blog one time and I've saved it ever since.  We could all use a dose of this attitude every now and again...

i am ready to own this life. i am not going to wait for anything to come my way. i am not going to accept anything less than what i want, i am not going to give anything less than my whole heart.
let us be fearless, and true, and ripped to shreds. let us breathe heavy and laugh strong and hold tight to one another. let us just keep going, together.

It wasn't until I truly believed I deserved to be healthy and happy did it happen.
