Hi Everybody,
I just wanted to everyone an update which I think will also be motivational to those who are just starting their weight loss.
I started late November 2006. To date I have lost 42lbs, and I plan to lose another 12lbs to reach my goal. I am 5'7" and started at 229. Today I weigh 187. I cannot even describe how great I feel. I feel like I am a totally different person. I receive compliments from coworkers, friends, family, and also my gf.
How I did it? I have exercised at least 5 days per week. I hike on Saturdays, and use the Elliptical, Treadmill, or Arc Trainer at the gym the other 4 days. Many days I also walk at lunch time outside of my office. I also have kept a food diary. This is how I have learned about calorie values for what I consume. By writing everything down I am counting calories. These new lifestyle habits are something that I need to continue for the rest of my life. I have learned to eat in moderation and exercise properly. Over the past few months, I have eaten all kinds of foods. Pizza, chinese, bread, etc etc, but I have eaten everything in moderation. One slice of pizza instead of 3 or lite bread, or half a plain bagel. The key for me is moderation. Best of luck to everyone. Be disciplined and stick to it and you will reach your goal!!!
