I've been working really hard since April to lose weight. I've lost 28 pounds so far. Yesterday at work my pants wouldn't stay up!!!! I'm so excited. As soon as my husband wakes up today (he works night shift) I'm going to buy me some new pants! Woo Hoo! ![]()

amazing, motivating, good! what has worked for me was buying pants one and two sizes too small. last week i fit into my one-size-too-small ones, and today i am wearing the even smaller ones, and two people at my work said how good i looked:)
Thanks so much! Ka, I almost did buy 1 pair that was the next smaller just to keep me going, but decided not too. i knew i'd try them on and when they didn't fit i was afraid i'd get discouraged. but i did get some cute pants!!!

I had bought some new shorts in size 10 but now I'm an 8. LOL If I had only waited a couple weeks...now the 10's are too loose. But much better than the 12's I was wearing when I started this calorie counting back in February!!!

Same thing happened to me, I never thought that I would be afraid of my pants falling down in public, but it was a real fear for awhile (until I got new pants, lol).
I brought some end of summer sale pants in March last year, which were too small for me, so I put them in the wardrobe for "when I lost weight" not that it had ever worked for me before, but hey, they were on sale! I got them out this year, and I had lost weight so that they were nearly too big for me! I have just finished going though my wardrobe and putting all my larger clothes away, and getting my smaller clothes out of storage. Now I have to put my diet on hold for awhile, but I hope to continue on in a few weeks time. At least I wont be afraid of my pants falling down for a little while!

ddeceive, i hate to say it, but plain old diet and exercise. i've been watching every single bite i put in my mouth. but i don't deprive myself of anything, either. I just make sure i plan ahead, so it hasn't been hard to stick to it. For instance, my husband and I were going to go to a baseball game (go rockies!) and i knew that i wanted a beer and nachos. My favorites! So i had a smaller breakfast and lunch. I don't do that every day though. I've increased my fruit and vegetables, reduced meats and fats, and count count count those calories.
also, everybody's body is different. i started at 205, so the weight is going to come off faster than if i only had 20 pounds to lose.

exactly. i have lost more than 50 pounds but surely, as i started at about 262, it went fater than if i had only a slight amount of excess fat:)
wow i can't wait to say the same thing!!! i'm 162 and i just started to go to the gym at least 6 days for the last 2 weeks. I am also trying to change my eating habits which is the hardest part!! lol. i was 165 when i started. So, reading your post is giving me some hope and motivation!!oh yeah. I started at 160 and now I'm 151lbs. I guess I just need to be patient. I have only done this for 2 months. I have been eating healthy and working out 6 days a week. My goal is to be 125lbs.
I've just really really decreased the fast food, junk food and meats and increased fruits and veggies. i try to carry around a kellogg's 90 calorie bar or two in case i get really hungry and don't have any healthy options available. i'm really not counting carbs or fat, just calories and lots of veggies. today for lunch we went to qdoba, which can be extremely high in calories if you're not careful. i ordered a veggie bowl with rice, (only 1 scoop) no beans, extra veggies and tomato salsa. it was filling and delicious. tonight i was getting ready to cook dinner and thought to myself that i have never seen so many vegetables in my fridge before. it was pretty cool. this site has some great low calorie recipes and i'm enjoying trying new things.
