Am I dreaming or did I just wake up hungary!

Ok I don't know about you but I am dreaming about food.  It's only day two from dedicating myself to loosing this weight.  Last night I had a very wierd dream I was fighting over a chocolate cake.  It tasted so good in my dreams too I woke up a bit slobberish and very upset because that was such a tease.  I have not had cake in over a year now that I can recall!  Seriously, I stepped on the scale this morning and I've lost 3 pounds.  Now I'm just left scratching my head.  Does this happen often to people that lose weight? This is the heaviest I've ever been so I'm just wondering if anyone else gets tormented by evil food dreams.

The fact that you woke up hungry is a good sign. Meaning that you didn't eat so much the day before that you body was still full upon waking. "Studies have found that people who eat breakfast are typically thinner than people who don't"  I used to never eat until like 11 or 12, breakfast made me ill.  I started by making myself eat in the morning, even if it was just some fruit or yogurt. Then I was hungry at 11 for lunch, wanted a snack at 2:30 and dinner as soon as I got home from work. I also don't eat after 7 ish. Now, 4 months later I'm hungry for breakfast in the morning & 38.2lbs thinner.

What works for me is Breakfast - fruit &/or dairy.  Snack - granola bar, or something less than 150 calories. Lunch - protein or soup (less than 100 cal per serving & I eat 2 servings). Snack - again. Dinner w/ lots of veggies (sometimes I just eat a really big salad)

Good Luck

Hi Halokenpo!

YES! Dreaming about things that you are spending lots of thoughts about is totally normal!

I have been dreaming for the first two weeks - on and off - about food, calories, losing weight, daily allowances, exercising and what not. In the beginning I was extremely motivated (and still am) so I spent lots of time planning meals or meal plans and online.

I suppose by committing to CC and losing weight your mind is telling you that chocolate cake is forbidden - so you are dreaming of it... even fighting for it! But believe me: chocolate is o.k.! I have 1/4 cup M&Ms dark chocolate at least 2 or 3 times a week and I have lost 16 lb in about 5 weeks. It just has to fit in your daily allowance!

All the best to you and keep dreaming... it's the lowest cal chocolate cake you will ever have!

Cheers

Brigit

When I started watching what I ate, I would have food dreams all of the time. Now I'm doing a dream journal for my psychology class and food still pops up, but not in the same way or all of the time. I just wonder what kind of an effect it can really have...

Thanks for the responses! Smile  Yeah, its really confusing still for me my dreams of food stopped for now.  I think I'm doing a personal science experiment trying to find the best calorie intake regardless of what the calculations say everyone is slightly different!  I've already  platued perhaps muscle mass is taking place?!  The research involved in weight loss is so extreme, I could be over thinking it!  Regardless I'm not giving up.  Take care~britt
