My wedding dress was a size 20 at 245 pounds/5'7'', but I had it taken in at the chest. It all depends on your shape and how you carry your weight. I'm large in the hips, but my dress hid those really nicely!
Dresses are always tricky for me, since I'm one size on top, and one size smaller on the bottom. There are all these cute dresses for women who are pear shaped.... sigh... jealous!
I liked what my sister did for her wedding: picked out a bridesmaid's outfit that looked like a dress, but was actually separates, a cute jacket with a skirt. That was smart.
April I measured for a 20. I am losing weight for that wedding so hopefully by then I will be back in a 14 off the rack and 16 formal.
i'm 5'8" and my pic on here is from my daughter's wedding. i was 218 :( anyway, i believe it was size 22
i'm wearing size 10 jeans right now though!!! LOL thanks to this site!!!
my belly is still pretty big, but the pants fit...
I always have to go up a size for a dress because I have a big chest and fairly wide shoulders.
I am 5'4 and 188.5 lbs. I wear a size 14 pants, a size 16 dress, and a size 18 bridal.
When I started my diet at 209 lbs. I was a size 16 pants and a size 20 bridal.
Brides maids gowns often are also bridal sized so do not get down on yourself if you end up with a size that seems like it should be way too big. The bridal world is WARPED.
i don't know if it's the way i carry my weight, if i have a lot of muscle mass or what, but dress sizes and i have a weird relationship.
when i was 320 lbs, i couldn't squeeze into a sz 24 bridesmaid gown. at 290 i could wear size 24 dresses, then i went to 270 and a size 20, and have recently gone back up to 285.
funny thing is, even though i'm 5 lbs closer to the size 24, i can wear size 20 formal wear, 20/22 business dresses, and 18/20 in casual/knit dresses.
i'm not very tall (5'6"), i'm busty, hippy, and butty. i know that with the weight i'm carrying i shouldn't be wearing these sizes, but they do fit, and they flatter! i don't look squeezed into them, although i do prefer closer-fitting clothes (NOT tight).
i lost track of losing weight once i started fitting into what i'd once considered "skinny" clothes, and i'm trying to get back on top of things so i don't completely reverse the trend. though i'm sure i've probably gained a ton of muscle mass since i added strength training to my exercise routine.

I am currently 244 lbs, 5'8" and had to try on bridesmaids dresses for an upcoming wedding. I wear a size 22...Im not one to wear dresses, id rather stay in jeans lol but my question is what is everyones stats and their dress size?
When I weighted 256, (5'6) I was in a 22 bridesmaid dress, size 20 jeans/dresses (of course the other bridesmaids were pixies...) but when I got married in May, I was down to 217 and my gown was an 18W (Alfred Angelo--awesome by the way) and the seamstress had to take it in over 2 " all the way around.
So a couple of thoughts on that:
1. People in bridal shops measure you but always go bigger than necessary because too big is much easier to fix than too small AND of course they make more money off you in alterations...
2. My jeans-regular dress size has been about a 16 since I got down to less than 225 lbs.
Does anyone else stay in the same sizes for a lot of pounds? IE I was a size 20 from 256-225, then down into a 16 from 225-200. THen for the brief period I weighed 190-180 I was a 14 and prob would've stayed a 14 into 175.
I laugh at these commercials where people lose 50 lbs and 6 sizes. I will never lose 6 sizes!!!
