Do you drink any diet pop?

I know it doesn't have any calories and all but there is so much talk going around that diet pop is bad for you.. I'm just wondering who else out there is still drinking it even when they are trying to lose weight?

Hi There...

I only have 1 diet caffeine free rootbear or cream soda every couple days.  I find for the most part because it still has sodium in it I do better not to have them very often. 

I drink a lot of water (120oz) a day and will have once or twice a day have a 20oz bottle of water with a flavor packet of sugar free (similar to crystal light, but the wal-mart version) lemonade, grape or something similar. 

One diet pop every now and then isn't going to kill you or hinder your weight loss. Plenty of people on this website have lost large amounts of weight without cutting diet pop out of their diet. As long as you have everything in moderation you should be fine... though some people feel like they lose weight better without drinking diet pop. But like I said, you can have one every so often and you'll be fine! Good luck!

I'm certain it's not good for you, but I haven't given up the fake sugar in my black coffee or my diet coke. I've lost 110 pounds - I've given up the Wendy's Baconator. I just won't give up diet coke.

I've lost weight and have been drinking boat-loads of diet pop the whole time.  I agree that it's probably not "good" for me - but I don't believe it's hindered my weight loss.  I think some folks would agree that the sodium in pop may contribute to water weight, but I haven't noticed any problems in that regard either. 

A couple cans of diet soda every once in a while wouldn't kill you. But if you're drinking a large amount of diet soda, the sugar alcohols could impact your digestive system by causing bloating and gas.

I drink diet pop and I also drink diet v's (with Vodka and Tequilla thrown in!).  Nothing wrong with anything in moderation - life has to go on.

I drink Zevia. It has 0 calories, 0 caffeine, and no aspartame or sucralose.

 

It is sweetened with stevia which can take a min to get used to but it is sweet and carbonated and will satisfy my cravings for a soda-pop.

 

I get it at my local natural food co-op.

I've lost 50+lbs this year, and up until 2 weeks ago I was drinking a boatload of Diet Pepsi every day.  Diet soda does not affect the basic physics involved in weight loss: if calories burned is greater than calories consumed, weight is lost.

That said, I have started drinking 96oz of water a day and a Diet Pepsi one or two days during the week (or anytime we eat out or catch a movie.)  Basically, I'm just seeing what all the fuss is about.  Other than the not-fun couple of days where I had headaches from caffeine withdrawal, I don't see much difference.

(Not saying it isn't better for me, just don't feel any different.)

I know I'm going to subject myslef to major critisim here but I drink a minimum of one (500ml) bottle of Diet Coke or Sprit Zero a day, sometimes two, but definatly one.

I enjoy it, I've cut everything else sweet out of my diet so the taste is comforting to me and to be honest the way I look at it is, there are some people out there who smoke 20 a day, there are some people out there who are killing themselves with drugs... I drink alot of diet coke...so what????

Haha mcg87 that made my day, very very true! I drink at least 3 coke zero's a day..and coffee, and lots of caffiene and i used artificial sweetner. Soo what, I know it's not that great for me but you have to have SOMETHING

I have to confuse that I drink Dite Rite has zero everything. i think it could be mud water, J.k. The only reason i can loose wait isn't the pop, it the other bad stuff.

Oh wow, I have nothing constructive to add, but I first read this thread title as "do you drink any diet poop?"

Funny you call it pop, though. I call it drinks or coke. 

I drink a couple of coke zeros each week.  I have averaged 2.5 pounds lost per week. 

LOL diet pop? No way I am giving up regular Pepsi.. I buy the small 8 ounce bottles and have three a day or four..  That is 500 calories. I gave up fast food, carbs and ice cream.

I need sugar and caffeine to even function. Just exercise more and have a longer wait to lose.  I eat 700 calories in food on most days. A bad day is 1500 calories and I am still losing. (When I hit a plateau, I will stop drinking regular and go to diet.)   Good Luck all!

 

Blackcherry...700 calories of food and 500 calories of High Fructose Corn Syrup...now that sounds healthy...lol.  There's more to health than weight loss you know...just a thought...

I drink about about a liter and a half/day.   Problem is that even though I haven't gained any weight, my waistline looks thicker.

I was drinking Green Tea Cananda Dry Ginger Ale.
But, now they have Diet version and I've been drinking
one of those with my lunch pretty much daily. They both
have 100% DV of Vitaman C.
