firstly I know consuming that amount of anything can not be good for me, especially with all those scary reports about what diet beverages may lead to. I mean I am a small guy and maintain my weight and eat healthy, but I just can not help but think that this habit is still causing damage if I don't even see it
secondly, for obvious reasons I always have to pee lol
thirdly, if I don't drink a diet beverage or coffee/tea by like mid day I feel like absolute crap...I get headaches, sometimes feel dizzy, and get EXTREMELY moody to those around me....but then when I get my "fix" it all goes away....
fourthly, I feel so full from drinking so much sometimes I don't eat and go under the calories I need to maintain
I have tried over and over again to quit this, but I just can't I like diet drinks and just drinking things in general way too much....I mean as I said, people think it is funny and are in awe by how much and how quickly I drink, but it has become kind of an issue for me...I mean I am a health freak with actual food and will drive all over looking for something stupid like an organic mufifn, but then go and put all this crap through drinking into my body, what do you suggest I do?
Hmmm, as for number 3, so most of the beverages have caffeine? Of course coffee does, and many types of tea, but I'm wondering if you are talking about diet sodas for a lot of the rest. Sounds like you need a caffeine fix in the morning or you get irritable.
I drink a lot of diet sodas, even though I know they are not that good for me. Having to pee a lot is an annoyance, but not really a problem...
As for getting too full from drinking them, load up on some calorie dense stuff like nuts or add olive oil to cooking. There are always good ways to increase calorie healthily without getting over-full.
Before I started my weight loss I drank Tea 100% of the time. Both caffinated and decaf, but with sugar. I can not do the artificial sweetners. Just can't...I have tried making a gallon of iced tea with half sugar and half artificial sweetner and ended up throwing it out. So know I drink one cup of hot tea around 10-11am to get that caffine in my system(will start to get headache if not). Then water the rest of the day. If I have extra calories to make up I will have a decaf cup with sugar in the afternoon.
It is a habit and habits can be changed if you want them to be.
slowly ween off the caffeine and chew gum in place of drinking all the time.
set up a schedule for when you drink something. And make sure ur caffinated beverage is in the morrning. Sometimes I will have a small cup of coffee at 7:30 am when i get to work and then if im dying I'll have another around lunch time. Try and ween yourself off of it. I found drinking just water really does make me more alert than the coffee and I dont get that afternoon crash.
I have been drinking LOTS of diet soda all my life. I know how you feel; I can drink a 12-pack easy in one day. I think the most I drank in one day was 18.
That said, I now have a weak cardiac sphincter in my esophogas, and will throw up food (reflux). Doc says this is due to caffeine. I also have acid reflux, which may be due to the soda too.
Yes, I'm trying to quit drinking soda. If you have any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.
